Thread: Doctor mission terminal, like beating a dead dog
I'm utterly shocked that medic & doctor mission terminals isn't in the top 5 of every month.
It would be nice to have a guarnteed source of steady income via a mission terminal. Like right now, I'm broke, have heavy harvesters set up but cant pay to even take them down. I can do reb missions for 900 each and thats the best money I can make without selling anything. I will bust my ass all day on reb missions to pay my maintenance or pray that I sell some goods. Oh but what if I was a master doctor / master entertainer? I would have no steady income whatsoever and would rely completely on tips. Yay fun.

i like this idea too...it would be nice to get the exp and cash for doing the mission. also my thought is this might actually encourage more and better tipping, b/c you'd have to offer more than the mission terminal in order to get doctor's to heal you. i get a little tired of healing people b/c i need exp...but getting nothing besides that out of it. Its easy for a person to say, well, you do get the exp, why should i tip you? but when the average fighter type character goes out on missions they get cash + exp. overall mission terminals sound like a great idea to me.
The added financial security that comes with having mission terminals is a stabilizing force in the economy and a centralizing agent for balancing career choices. Are there any of you out there that took up an elite combat career with your doctor career because you had trouble making money? Doctor missions that have big payouts would alleviate the need for advanced combat skills. All other careers have a mission terminal that serves their needs except for those of medics, doctors, and combat medics. On your next month's vote, please place medic/doctor mission terminals in the top 5. Thanks.
I WHOLE HEARTEDLY AGREE!!! I'm for one sick of people saying "Heal people for tips" I spent a whole day. LIke... 16 hours on this thing (i know I suck), but only got like 6K total. I SPENT CLOSER TO 30K ON MEDS!!! That's just not cool. I personally for one have refused service to just about everyone I meet b/c I EXPECT them to stiff me. I ask for it upfront, if they complain in the least... they go on my ignore list. My ignore is is HUGE! So, I cleared out my ignore list, and just don't heal period. I heal for my guild only now. The only other way I heal outside of my guild and friends, is you have to send me a tell and solicite my services. I make some decent money this way, but I have little to no control over requests. So I can't just drum up some business if I'm 4K short of buying some med supplies in bulk to help cut costs down. Besides, entertainers heal for money, so do medics/docs. Entertainers get tips, which are usually lousey, so do medics/docs. Entertainers have a mission terminal, why don't medics/docs? All I'm saying is I would like to have a source of income that isn't based on what kind of gun I'm carrying or at someone else's discretion andthinks I deserve.
Doctor mission terminals are essential to the longterm viability of the profession. Without this, we will soon be without any truly While opening up a shop is a great idea, you cannot be a career "healer" (i.e. Master Doctor , Master Combat Medic ) with any skill point room for Artisan and vendor usage.
I could seeseveral types of missions for the "healer" mission terminal:
1. Combat Medic: Serve as a line medic for a group ofRebels/Imperials. Mission success is dependant on the groups abilityto keep a percentage of healing for the group high (i.e.make sure everyoneis at max heal for 75% of raid, etc.) and/or number of troops kept alive/rezzed. Obviously, this could be great for rezzers and also serve for complexity based on number of troops. Even a good rezzer gets overwhelmed easily and could fail a mission if not keeping up.
2.Medical Supply Delivery:Delivery mission to a needed. Simply a great way to keep themedical crafting profession a viable and money MAKING opportunity. We all know it's expensive to create, supply, etc. meds. Having an actual Medical Supply Delivery mission that gives bocu bucks would really be interesting. There are plenty of things to
3. "Doctor's Office": Obviously, we don't have these yet. I have a "pseudo" doctor's office now in my house with my droid where I will be able to serve the guild in the field. And of course, droids are still kinda bugged in houses (I think...). This would lead to the mobile field hospital (MASH) or static player housing/hospitalthat will hopefully be coming with player cities and battlefields. Simply opening one of these could get you mission points, then using it based on rate of patients, quality of care (i.e. meds), etc. would get you dollars.
4. Other... Let's keep the ideas rolling. We need to give the devs good support from the community on what we would actually like to see.

I can go to a med facility but i take all the exp away from Novice Doctors or lower folks.(you know what i mean)
I mainly keep master doctor to make enhance packs for myself, because im teraskasi master, i dont even make wound packs anymore. i can meditate.
So the Medical mission terminals are needed. especially since med packs cost so damm much to make.
Another thing too.. forthe missions, such as a the regular "hunting" missions and the artisan missions payout based on combat ability. If a player has dropped most of their combat skills for the sake of the "trades" they are essentially stuck with crap (100-400 cred) missions, even if they are a master in a "non-combat" trade. As a doc I used to pick up artisan missions between planets while flying around to meet up with friends or check harvesters, now these missions are worthless to me (low pay and not "any planet"), because I gave up expert rifle.
Yes doc missions would be nice, since entertainers and artisans get theirs - I want somebalance.
I agree. Even if the mission is something like "blah blah is badly wounded and you need to make an ambulance call" or something. You know, like Field Doctors or something like that. I don't know what I'm saying. I just think we need Doctor Mission Terminals.
