I just got back in to the game today after 3 months off. My old character was a doc/pistoleer however I wish to drop pistoleer in favor of another fighter class. What fighter class should I choose which complements my docs abilities? Or perhaps what fighter class will I have the most fun with. Money is definately a concern at the moment also, however I'm sure that will straighten itself out once I find a fighter class worth using.

just really any elite combat profession can mix well with doctor. depends on your playablity and what suits you. theres lots of tkm/doc combos floating around. i can say fencer/dr as nice and had 18 skill points to mess around with. also my brief time and a doctor with feign death was handy during guild hunts.

I love TK, did it before I went doc, actually

I just buff myself, then go charging into battle. Soloing things like giant dune kimos is always a blast (gatta have the disease heals on hand hehe), and being able to stay out on dathomir hitting every rancor in sight along with the occasional set of nightsisters is a great time.

That 18 pts left over went into scout with hunting 1, so I could at least make a feeble attempt at harvesting my own avian/herb meat, but I still end up buying most of it.

I run Ubuntu Linux and play SWG with Cedega. Give the live CD a try, you'll like it

I am working my way to master doctor though I am currently a Master pikeman and will be using the two together. My friend for a long time was a master doc, but now he is going for pure combat so if I wanna keep my buffs up full time I gotta do it myself. My only trouble seems to be when I fight mobs that won't hold still long enough for me to KD them or that are highly resistant to both kinetic and electricity.

If you play a lot on your own and don't raid/PvP much, any melee class is great. If you raid a lot I would go rifleman or CM.

I'm going Doc 0,4,4,0, Master TKA, and Novice Merchant to sell my resource.

I was on a silent holo so iwent TKA for holo grind , crap wasn't it , so i mastered Doctor , crap wasn't it .

Then i fell in love with this combo , also took novice scout and hunting 1 like the guy in a recent postand stopped my holo grind to wait for the new system , Doctor was my 13'th or 14'th proffesion i can't remember.

I may not be the best pvp'er but with a full buff there isnt many mob's that can take me down, and i dont have to wait in lines to get buffed anymore.

But it is a whole different game than what i was used to,i have allways been a ranged player since release and i do hate chasing after things or people.

But for now i am happy

If you're going to PvP I would suggest Rifleman, if you're primarily PvE(numerous caves and quests) I would go melee class, any of the four advanced classes should compliment doc nicely.

my two cents worth....

I am a TKA / Swordsman.

I am dropping TKA for doctor.

heck I figure if I dont like the combo, I will drop swordsman and find a profession I like better.

After all as someone said earlier...

Master Doc and any elite combat profession are hard to beat.

I think it depends on your goals. If you like to be solo combat style, the options are wide between ranged or melee to compliment doctor. If you want to run a business, master merchant is amazing! If you want to be the most desired group member for various hunts, and events, I suggest Master Doctor/Master CM.
