Thread: How does buffs work?

woops, hit enter on accident, anyway, i just started playing again, quit last september, but i hear alot about buffs, how do they work? doctor thing? or CM and doctor? what do they do for you? hear doc's charge quite a bit and they last 3 hrs? sorry for my noobishness, can anyone enlighten me concerning buffs?

There are, as far as I know, four types of buffs.
1. Doc buffs. These can only be given by a doc using an enhancement pack. They can do the three action and the three health stats. Back in the day the power of the buff was a random function now it is static, meaning the doc can predict power of the buff they will give you. The buff can range from near zero up to about 3k but most are around 2k.
2. Entertainer buffs. Mind buff. You watch the dancerand they buff you. Lasts up to about 2 hrs and doubles your mind pool.
3. Food buffs. Many types out there. See the chef FAQ for a list. These are shorter duration and power than 1 or 2 above but can be administered by the person by eating or drinking the item.
4. Power Boost. This is only a TK skill. It adds to the action, health, and mind pools for about 10 min.
