It's all personal choice I find, but generallygo for wound treatment first to up the power of each heal and thus get more xp from less resources used.
I did doc long before tumbling, so people actually needed healing then. At this time, if you don't heal tumblers etc, your advancement will go very slowly. Buffing gives xp too, but noone will want your buffs because they're not MD buffs. Noone will need you to heal them because they have MD buffs.
So really the only path I see is fall in line with the tumblers (boy it hurts to say that
) or what for the combat balance, where things should be close to back to normal.

There is one other alternative to either wound healing, or use tumblers. Get yourself buffed, and then go to dant, or dath, or where ever there are people combar grinding. ask if you can just follow em around, and heal them. you can usually get better heal and faster than hoping for people who need wound healing, and it is cheaper than tipping tumblers (as well as far less boring)
this is what I did, and I went from novice medic to almost master doc in a week. of course you can go a little faster with a tumbler, but i have disdain for that anyway. heh, i remember the day when people paid YOU for healing them , instead of you paying them to heal them lol

While working thru the levels of Doc, I stood at the spawn area in the Coronet starport and healed people as the spawned. Collected a lot of tips also. Was able to get all the xp needed for Doc in one week, without using a tumbler. You'll need lots of wound packs, a medicial droid and lots of batteries!

well....this is what I did
Do whatever you have to and get to 0/2/4/0
at that point you can buff people....you get around 1k per buff in exp(X6 per person)
I decided to charge a real cheap price that covered my costs and a tiny bit more and buff at cnet and theed.(I think it was 8-9k) I was hitting 2100ish
People flocked to me because the price and the buff wasent a bad buff. I maxed out my med pretty fas doing that....then I would run to the trainer and get trained then go back. I had the rest of doc ground out except for crafting in less than a day doing it this way.
The next day was dedicated to grinding crafting(my had still cramps up thinking about it) There are some pretty good macros that will do everything but select the resources. I used 6 crafting tools and had my macro timed at 3 seconds..by the time the first one was done finalizing, i was starting on my 6th....so I had all 6 craftign machines running full time. lots of clicks and no breaks....I did have to stop a few times to rest my hand lol. Just choose the highest difficulty part to make that uses only 2 resources...I think if I remember right it was a suspension or something like that....I bought a lot of lok wheat and naboo fiberplast(40k of each) I ended up having about 15k or so of each leftover...but I would rather have leftovers than run out real close to finishing.

One of the more interesting ways I found of gaining exp, money and contacts was from grabbing the shuttle to Corolag and healing everyone who came through who needed healing. While waiting for the shuttle, grind some more medical crafting or chat to people. Rather nifty as the lag doesn't reach the area
Mind you be prepared for people not noticing and running away to the medcentre and sendin you a tell later... oh, cheers for the heal
