Hi, I've been playing for a while now and I really only have one major problem with the game and it involves doctors.
Now dont get me wrong I'm not here to suggest a nerf for docs but a new skill that I think that you would like and would solve a little problem of mine
Now as everyone knows doctors are reknowned for their great buffing abilities, people even line up and pay 12k-14k for them.
I know you docs probably love the money train coming in but I ask, is this realistic? Does this really make sense?
I dont know if any of you reading have played KOTOR but if you have then you must be familiar with the stims in the game, the stims that can buff alacrity, stamina and strength. WHAT IF DOCTORS COULD MAKE THESE STIMS!!?? wouldnt that be great?? no more waiting in long lines. All the doc has to do is build the stim that does the same effect, put them on auction or on a vendor and its all done. Of course the doc will still be able to directly buff someone for occasions such as hunting in the wild with some teammates and they request a buff, but for the rest of us we could just use these pre made stims.
There could even be different variations, some that last for 3 hours, some that last for 1 hour, some that boost a lot, some that boost little. This would help a great deal in my opinion, and would still make you doctors stinkin rich.
Thoughts? other Ideas? go for it.

I would be against it.
I already have enough to do without adding more crap to run through the factories.
Buy chef food and drinks for self buffing action.
Buy drugs from a smuggler for self buffing action.
That is my suggestions

I am pretty sure that will not happen. Every buff type in the game has to have some down-side to it. Chef foods/drinks fill up your stomach. Doctor buffs take time to get. Entertainer buffs take even longer time to get. Spices have downers.
So if they add doctor buffs usable by everybody, they would need to add some new type of "downer" to it.

Hmm, i see both your points.
hmmmmm.... what if the downer was that it was only half the effect of a max buff? Something like a quick stim perhaps?
Something for the person who wants to adventure for about 30 minutes without worrying about paying a lot of money for 3 hour buffs.
Well, I see my suggestion wasnt really in the best interest of the doctor, if more people would like to add, go ahead.

I'm also against it, for a few reasons. This would basically force all docs to be crafters. No one would bother getting buffed by doctors if they could all do it themselves. Doctor is not primarily a crafting profession. It's a healing profession. Self applied buffs that are anything close to the power of current doctor buffswould be even more detrimental to the need for healers in the field than doctor applied buffs are, thereby hurting all medical professions. Lastly, as a previous poster has pointed out, there already are self-applicable buffs in the game in the form of foods, drinks and spices.

I'm a Doctor Dammni not a Crafter!!
Whoops wrong galaxy
On a serious note we are not crafters, The items you suggest would require vendors to sell them wich would not leave much SP for combat.
Master doc takes up a lot of SP as does business III (24 SP) unless your Doc char happens to be noncombat that doesn't leave you much fighting room.

The only way I could be for this is if the BEST it could get was 1/4 duration and 1/2 power of current doctor buffs (so 45 minutes with 1250 strength) or 1/2 duration and 1/4 strength (1 hour 30 minutes and 625 power). And that would only be achievable with 12 points and at least 5 'great' experiments.
And even then, I'd still be iffy about it, as I do NOT want Doctors to be Crafters.
But still, doing that would give players the ability to keep themselves alive while killing jantas for 45 minutes.
Also, of course, these 'stim buffs' would not stack with applied Doctor buffs.

I think the big catch in this would be the med. skill level needed to even use these, self buffing stim thingies, Are you try to get people to be able to use them with no skill , buff yourself but cant use a normal stim to heal, it is all about the skill to be able to do it, that is the the whole reason we master doc , is to buff

So let me get this straight.... you are suggesting to the doctor community taking away their ONLY form of income and also make the whole Medic/Doctor thing completely useless by giving EVERYONE the ability to use 'stim packs' and such with no medical skills? Sorry, I just think that would be a really, reallly, really, really bad idea.
