i've got +12 medical assembly cloak, and I was wondering if it actually worked...it sure doesn't seem to... AND, would this be better or worse than +5 exp/+5 assembly ??

sigh....... assembly helps towards your success/fail rate when you are experimenting... if you want more points you need to get experimentation clothes. the max you can have in just straight clothes is +5 exp/+5 assembly. the rest you have to get from Clothing Attachments (skill tapes). if you get +10 exp total you'll get another experimentation point. so yes, the +12 helps in ur success/fail rate.

Several things to clear up.

1. Assembly bonus only counts during the assebly role, not the experimentation roles. The assebly role is the first one that happens after you put in the resouces. It is often overlooked since it is almost always a great success as a master doc useing high end resouces.

2. You can get an assembly bonus in four ways.

A. Basic doc skill bonus that you get as you train up the doc tree.

B. Skill tapes or the crafting apron (which gives +5). The total of all your clothing based additions can only be +25. Nothing after +25 will help.

C. Pyollian Cake. A type of food that for each bit will give you a bonus for the next assebly role.

D. Research cities give a bonus to the assebly role.

With all this said I find that assebly bonus for meds to not be worth much since 99% of what I make I make in a factory so the there is little risk of a poor role. The only time this is not true is when I am hand crafting Janta buffs. Even then, it is a rare day to not get a great success while in a Research city.

IMHO, assembly isnt super nessicary when your a doctor. Most times when you fail, you just try again. The only real need for it is when your making janta blood meds, which really isnt that often. Its not like WS or even AS where your working with alot of super valuable loot components all the time.

Assembly can effect the stats of the item as well. A better assembly leads to better pre-experimentation stats.

What Marrow1 said. Except, I'm pretty sure Research Center cities only give experimentation bonus and Manufacturing Centers give assembly bonuses.

You also forgot the Force Sensitive Assembly tree.

true, but I've got +12 assembly in my 12 point suit, and I use the cake whenever I think of it, and I haven't gotten anything other than an good success or a critical failure in months. No amazing successes, no just regular successes.
