as title implies, without us buffing i think any server would fall into a depression, people wouldn't buy anything and no one would hunt. What does everyone think?

I assume you mean if doctors didn't buff the general public?

There are probably a lot more docs out there than you realize that just buff friends, guildies and themselves. If public buffing stopped there would probably be a lot more guild and group interaction. Either that or most toons would take a few hours off to learn enough of the doc skills to buff themselves.

no, because there are enough alt buff bots to keep the server going, plus there are enough people that don't read the forums, or simply don't care that will ...

The Cult of Southern womanhood endowed her with at least 5 totally different images and asked her to be good enough to adopt all of them. She is required to be frigid, passionate, sweet, bitchy, and scatterbrained -- all at the same time. Her problems spring from the fact that she succeeds."

Amen to that.

It would be nice to make de Doc role more honorable. People thing that all Docs become Docs to get rich quick and i'm sure some people did but it's not the case for everyone. I for one always heal damage and poisons for free, It's my way of helping others. I absorb the cost of those mets with the profit I make from buffing and since I started to craft my packs myself, my cost is even lower.

I don't know if I'm the only one who's hearing this, but my personal tells went from "please, can you heal my wounds and remove my poison" to "Man, R U buffing, come on, i'll pay you 25k"

Yes, Doc is profitable but as should any other support role should be. How interesting is it to go out with a group and heal states for a couple hours and try to get some combat XP at the same time... Lemme tell you, it's very boring but I still like it when people tell me it's so much better to go fight NS or rancors when there is a Doc around.

I hope the combat revamp will change things.

When the game was released, and for a while after, buffs were non existant, and still when they became more common, they were hardly as good as what we see common now, servers did fine then, high end hunts still went on, difference is, medics were in higher demand, not an answer to yopur question I realise, but its a good frame of reference.

Like alot of doc's I buff guild and alts mostly. Being a doctor at times is a hinderance if title is viewed. Hopefully Combat Revamp makes some good changes to our profession and brings some respect back towards doc's and the energy required to play a support role.

In answer to your question, yes I believe a boycott would drive folks to actually play together instead of usuall solo grind. We all know though that some will continue buffing and pricing for buffing will climb quickly. With 50k and up being the norm at starports.

Public buffing would never stop thought. Not even if all the doctors agreed to stop this is becasue you would get the economy paying one single doc so much because he would raise his price and start buffing, he would get away with this because he would be the only one. All he would have to do is advertise in game trade forums and his server board.

my commando friend hunts without buffs, just armor, a flamethrowerand a pet. i dont even bother buffing myself a majority of the time, preferring to usemy stims and toughness to survive.
