How awesome is the +1 cap for poisons. As I was dropping Combat Medic, I mastered Doctor and basically trivialized the profession advancement. Yay for stupid fixes that are major nerfs

I mastered both CM crafting and Doc crafting in a day with the macro I've posted before.

Eh, just bitchin about the messed up idea that came from this board about a +1 cap for poisons. Crafting was already done cause combat meds were tied to the doctor crafters tree. It is so wonderful when SOE nerfs something to fix something else but doesnt actually fix what the nerf was for.

You are mistaken. The idea did NOT come from this board. It was a suggestion made on the CM Boards that NO ONE spoke against. It was never PUSHED for by any Doctor. Why would it be? It simply makes the poison cures we use pointless.

Greetings,

I’ve been as Doctor so long I remember when people were polite in the MedCenters ... but the rest of my skill points have wandered down many paths, from Merchant to Rifleman to Creature handler to countless others things I’ve mastered and almost mastered. When I decided to try Merchant again, I noticed I could pick up the Support line of Combat Medic in the mean time, and get myself some Terrain Negotiation. Mmmn, that was so nice to be able to walk up hills again, but I digress ...

I found that with buffing folks for free (you’d be amazed how many folks thought it was a scam when I stood in Theed shouting ‘Free Master Doctor Buffs - Help me with an experiment!’). I soon had all but the crafting line full, and I still wonder what was going through the mind of the fellow who kept training me. In less than an hour, I’d filled up 3/4 of the class, and just for the heck of it I decided to go all the way (wasn’t doing anything with the 1240 apprentice experience any) I took a shuttle to Kadaara, ran to my house, and settled in to waste around 17000 Tatooine Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat.

Crafting more aBECs that anyone should every attempt in one sitting, I was able to grind out all of the needed experience (didn’t have much saved up, since soon as I hit Master I went to almost all factory-made meds, bliss!) in about an hour and a half, two hours at the most (with a short break to keep from losing my mind). All that’s needed is the macro you’ve seen floating around, the smacks the tool, picks the schematic, you double click the ingredients, and then it finishes itself. Keep the delays low and the clicking fast, and you’re set to grind any flavor of crafting items (having many tools helps - I had six going at one). Needless to say, your wrist(s) might not think this is a good idea.

Total time to master all of Combat Medic: Around three hours. So it is possibly, although under odd conditions (having been a Doctor already, vs. having to heal in Cantinas/Tumblers) and with supplies on hand (it would have taken a few days to get the resources if not).

"mastered Doctor and basically trivialized the profession advancement. "

Its only trivial if you don't bother to actually play the game in a logical fashion with others. You only trivialized the profession for yourself, not for others that enjoy being doctors.

The doctor profession isn't about advancing, its about helping others. Every skill we get is about helping others play better and safer. Every wound you healed on a training bot is matched by real players helping real players recovering from wounds in med centers and scout camps all over the galaxy. The fact that you chose to not bother helping anyone else, being purely driven by some compulsive desire to hit a skill box in a minimal amount of player interaction is irrelevent to the rest of us.

I don't think +1 "pause" idea came from this board.

Although when I heard about it I wanted for it to STOP at 50%, maybe even 75% and not this "pause" at +1 system we got now.

Ofcourse I figured that would REALLY be unfair to CM and since they buffed up our cure poison/disease I didn't think too much about it.

I figured all the flank CM will get from the new and improved disease would put them down a peg or two until I found out with new decay no one way PvPing much. (I was completely flabbergasted since people VOTED for this new decay system, although to be fair it was vote between decay per death vs. decay per incap)

Oh well as it turned out there are more "fix" to CM coming down the pipe with new big patch so I sure wouldn't be raising anymore funk about CM. (although I though they would've put in 65m thing long before this)

I'm more happy about CM combat exp bonus than using poison for medical exp since what with survey exp, dancer exp, tumble exp, etc, etc, last thing I worry about is yet another way to get medical exp.

Beside, great thing about being a doctor is that what makes you a great doctor is not that master doctor tag but the stims you carry as well as knowing when to heal and who to heal.

I have yet to walk around thinking "Hey there is just too many Master Doctors around!" since biggest thrill in being doctor is the fact that when people need our help, we can help them and not the fact that people NEED us. (And no you can't have that buff for free. I still gotta pay my rent!)

You know I hear that alot.

Macro survey trivialize artisan.

AFK dancer trivialize dancer

and I guess you feel +1 poison trivialize Doctor.

Yes I know you said it trivialize profession "advancement" and I guess you meant everybody should have to pay their "due" to get to master.

Well I never understood that. I think getting TO your master profession should be trivial. I never though that "welp I'm master doctor now, guess now I can go home" since I never though mastering doctor/CM was any kind of accomplishment.

I mean I guess I can understand if there is unlimited skill points or you have unlimited character in that server, but you pay for every single one of your skill points that you spend. I rather be spending my money every month for BEING that doctor than trying to get to be that doctor for that 16 bucks I drop.

I write check for 16 bucks every months to SoE, and I only get 250 points for that. I drop majority of that skill points for previlege of playing a doctor, so I PAY 8 dollars every month just to play that doctor.

Thats trivial?

I posted the +1 idea on some forum, might have been this or CM. I did all of doc so fast, you could probally master the healing line in doc in under an hour at fort tusken with area poisons.

It took me a while to do the doc crafting because I did all of it by hand with BEC, as I did the CM.

This way to get healing xp is pretty much broken, but hunting groups, cantinas and med centers aren't enough.

The only other way to get decent xp is to have a pet with tons of wounds or someone tumble to standing. Hmm, it might be kinda fun to gather as many people in a small area as possible and have them all tumble to standing with buffed action and see how fast a master CM can burn through doc with area stims..
