im just wondering if you make people tip you before you buff them or if its half at the start then the rest when u finish, i used to let them tip me as i was doing it or at the end however!the otherday i was picking some stuffup id brought and i got afew'tells' asking if i was buffing today.. thinking i might as well make alittle extra money as id nothing else todo i said yes.. all was going well as usual when someone suddenly msg's me just for an action buff..he asks how mucha nd i tell him 1ki very fair price i think, anyway he comes i buff him for 2k and as i wait for him to tip someone else asks for a buff.. andif youve not guessed alreadyhe leg's it with out payingsonow iv started to ask people to tip me before i buff afew people have moaned at meetc, if i know the personor have buffed themalot i dont askas im sure they will pay..

so im just wondering what others do.. buffing is not my main way of making moneybut the few extra creds it brings in is nice, but this experiance left a sour taste in my mouth evenmore so cos iv buffed afew of the guildhe is in and theyseem to be nice enough.. i thought about moaning to afew of his guild mates but that would put me in a bad light so i have not bothered, the only thing i did was add him to my ignor list... the only person on there and hopefuly the last :/

I quote price in tell, if they say they want it then i start buffing, usually they tip me as soon as they can type it in. I also think its nice for them to get 1 or 2 buffs to see that they are not getting CRAP. I feel that if someone really would NOT pay you after a buff, they have more problems than i want to deal with. Just don't buff them again.

I take payment up front for buffs. It guarantees payment, and weeds out the ones who are going tobe more trouble than they're worth. I do tip back some money if the buff is low enough, though.

The way it works isyou get payment up front, or they don't get buffs, especially if it's someone you haven't buffed before. The people who try to negotiate you down are the people most likely to rip you off if you don't get payment first. Just be firm and stick to your price.

For repeat customers with history of paying, I have no problems starting buff sets before payment. These kinds of people have earned trust.

If I'm using my good packs it's always payment up front. If I'm using my rejects I don't really care if they stiff me so I buff away and hope they pay.

most of the ppl i buff are regulars so i dont have problems with payment or if they are short to pay me next time, if they are new i get hlf up front and half at the end.

There's no reason not to ask for payment upfront... We're not slicers -- we can't hold their weapons or armor hostage until they pay us... But also tell them what they can expect -- people hate to get buffs that last for 2 hours when they're grinding xp, and hate to be hit for 700 health too...

The easiest way that I've found is to put your price and pack stats on a macro (power, low buff, high buff, average, and duration -- duration is just as important as the others to some) keyed to /reply. /t %tt would also work, I suppose, although I get a lot of tells from people I can't see. I don't say anything about payment in advance in my macro, although most people figure it out... If they don't I just notify them, politely, that I require payment before I get to work.

Sometimes people **edit** about paying in advance... Just start to move on -- they'll change their mind. In 3 or 4 months of doing this, I've never been refused on that count, and I've only been asked to show someone my packs twice... Plus, it makes it easy to keep track of people that are in line -- the order the tips come in = order in line.

I just can't believe more dancers and musicians haven't started charging in advance...

I always pay before I get them and trust the doctor to tip me back if he promised a certain level of buff.

After I quote my price I start healing wounds, but I don't start buffing until I get paid. I've been burned a couple times by trusting people.

I have makroed most of my stuff I do while buffing.
And I demand the payment before service if I don't know the guy but if it's the same who came to me for 2 months now I start and he knows the drill.

Usually I just say
Just transfer 9000 credits to my local account and we can start as soon as my bank confirms its arrival
or,
Okay here is the deal: You upload 9000 credits to my datapad and I cut you open in front of all the people here.

I like to talk as much as possible to my customers make the comfortable. It's really sad as how I see some other doc's perform usually it is like -money-buff-next-rince&repeat-

Where is the fun in that?

Say some sillly things as: Look for the girl in white and follow the blood stains from my earlier victi... erm customers.

Is it supposed to bleed that much?

Or just anything your customers will apretiate it.
