Thread: paying for buffs before during or after..?
Soca
most of the ppl i buff are regulars so i dont have problems with payment or if they are short to pay me next time, if they are new i get hlf up front and half at the end.

There's no reason not to ask for payment upfront... We're not slicers -- we can't hold their weapons or armor hostage until they pay us... But also tell them what they can expect -- people hate to get buffs that last for 2 hours when they're grinding xp, and hate to be hit for 700 health too...
The easiest way that I've found is to put your price and pack stats on a macro (power, low buff, high buff, average, and duration -- duration is just as important as the others to some) keyed to /reply. /t %tt would also work, I suppose, although I get a lot of tells from people I can't see. I don't say anything about payment in advance in my macro, although most people figure it out... If they don't I just notify them, politely, that I require payment before I get to work.
And I demand the payment before service if I don't know the guy but if it's the same who came to me for 2 months now I start and he knows the drill.
Usually I just say
Just transfer 9000 credits to my local account and we can start as soon as my bank confirms its arrival
or,
Okay here is the deal: You upload 9000 credits to my datapad and I cut you open in front of all the people here.
I like to talk as much as possible to my customers make the comfortable. It's really sad as how I see some other doc's perform usually it is like -money-buff-next-rince&repeat-
Where is the fun in that?
Say some sillly things as: Look for the girl in white and follow the blood stains from my earlier victi... erm customers.
Is it supposed to bleed that much?
Or just anything your customers will apretiate it.
