Hi everyone
... i thought i would post this view i haveon the current buff-system!
Ive personally reached a point in this game where i havebegunto try and analyze different aspects of what actually makes this game fun and playable for all... And i feel ive come to a point where i would rather see a swg without any kind of doctor buffs!
There are several reasons why i think the game should be without those endless buff-queue's and high level buffs in genereal:
1. Doctor's can easily (if they want to) become multi-millionairs over a reasonable period of time, wich in my opinion contributes to the ruin of the general swg economy... the gap between poor newbs and over-rich seasoned players are getting too big, and i dont see buff-prices contributing to that.
2. Buffs are in general annoying and only in the way of making swg an even better playable experience... Buffs are pricey, buff-queues are usually really long and takes time to get through! Once you are buffed u are in most cases (atleast in nature against creatures) fairly invincible, if u build up a fairly descent character template! This is reducing the need of grouping, wich i feel is a setback compared to how i first experienced swg (unbuffed and unarmored), wich was a lot of fun!
As it is now if you wanna hunt anything u need to prepare for it by getting buffed, wich takes a lot of time, and even limits your hunt to about 3 hours (if u dont happen to have a buffing doc with you ofcourse)
3. Buffs in pvp: In my opinion Regen buffs, not as much the regular HAM buffs, is whats making pvp really annoying... and the fact that you are able to spam specials with no end, seem to take the tactical and fun part out of it.
How I would like to see SWG (free of buffs!):
First of all imagine this... U log in and decides that u wanna go hunting... you dont need to prepare and find a buffer first... instead u just pick up a few friends and go hunting straight away!... u are no longer limited to the 3 hours approx it takes for a buff to wear off... u can stay in the field for 5-6-7 hours if u want... even just half an hour without thinking that you just wasted a lot of money on a buff!... You can hunt when you want, as long as you want!... that is something i would really want to see!!
New HAM system could be something like a permanent HAM of about 2500... regens permanent about 1500... (npc enemies should ofcourse be adjusted if neccesary)...only buffs available to enhance these should be chef food/drinks wich should have limited and very short term affects (e.g. like enhancing health with 200 for 10 mins or so)... In this way u would always be prepared for battle and wouldnt have to waste time worrying about having to get buffed (or having the time to do so)... Even giving minor HAM bonusses in master boxes could be a possibility! Food/drink-buffs should be an advantage, but NOT a deciding factor!
I realize that many thing would need to be adjusted for this, not least the doc/chef/dancer and musician professions, but i feel that buffs are at this point only in the way, and a really annoying part of SWG.
Thanks all for reading this, and please feel free to comment as you like!

Hey, heres an idea:
How about instead of crying nerf nerf nerf nerf nerf all the time, we instead cry for more mid end content. Instead of having everything be to easy or to hard, we get some stuff in the middle, instead of destroying what an entire group/profession of people have spent a year perfecting. The problem isnt doctor buffs, and removing them is a half assed solution to the real problem. We need more content. Plain and simple.
Not to mention that none of us have become rich sitting on the porch and drinking a beer. Med crafting, just like all other crafting, is hard work, and getting a business to the point were you can become one of the horrible millionares is just as hard.
Also, you mention one of my favorite mis-conceptions. SWG was fun when you first experienced it, unarmored and unbuffed. Is it possible that that enjoyment was because you had just started playing the game? Everything was new, fresh, and you'd never been to every place in the game, let alone hunted the same mob 1000000000000 times. It all comes back to content. Go to the DWB with a group of 20 people, fully buffed and armor and tell me you dont have fun.

/agree
Like Dovakic saidtry the DWB with 20 friends. I went there one time with 20 friends all with master combat professions and 2 Jedi, we all got 2500+ buffs and after 2 hours in there the entire group got killed (had a good time however). Now tell me again how doc buffs are too powerfull.
