I'm also the Doctor/Merchant alt, chained to my crafting station and vendors and mall. Iunderstand your distress.
You'll need 0/2/4/0 instead of 0/0/4/0 to buff though.

you can get your 24 boxes by losing scout and dropping to like 4442 doctor, and by then youll have opened a new toon with which to recreate your old template. No need to be that scared

You can also get by without being master swords if you dont intend on PvPing.
Not sure if that is your intention or not. I know that I have very little trouble hunting most critters (all herbivore and avian anyway) with just novice swordsman (that's right, 0000 swordsman). If that is your aim, you have 57 skill points at your disposal. I would certainly rather drop that than doctor...

The time is approaching where i must drop MD
I have been MD for a year now, However i unlock next phase, currently i have enough xp for 4 and a bit branches..
Currently I am MD/MS with Novice scout and the first box of scout.. oh, and a fs box.
I really really dont want to drop MD, i love it.. most fun profession I have ever played.. I love being able to go out as a team, heal people, Bascially work my MD Mojo. I cant imagine what its going to be like, im scared
I do, however have a MD Alt, however he is just my crafting Doc, with Master merchant.. No chance i can take him out in the field.
So my plan, is to go MD 0/0/4/0 so u can atleast make some buffs that i can use..

Once i have got enough FSXP for the other 2 trees ill drop the rest of Doc and use the SP's for more scout, and other bits and pieces..
however, /tremble... im scared, whats life like witout MD....

Hehe, yup "D-Day" = April 8th... can't wait to be honest.. however i recon SWG days will be few and far between for a month or more afterwards.

I honestly dont know what to do, Having another PC makes life a bit easier, i can log on my alt, and buff me/guildies. However he doesnt have JTL, and if i was to die/cloned id have to get him to me ASAP.. which is a pain, but not unrealistic. I think ill go 0/2/4/4 (not dropping crafing yet, incase i change my mind) which will free up nearly enough points for all six FS branches.
Then, ill have to start dropping the crafting tree as i venture into the abyss, aka jedi.
However, i really really dont know, im so confused, its like losing my right arm..
