Good Morning All,
Lastnight TH released the "Blair's Blog". Nothing extreamely fancy or exciting, but there is one key note they touched on that pretains to us.
We are going to convert all existing itemsto what they need to be. In some cases, the functionality of an item no longer exists, so we will adapt it to make it useful under the new system. Stims (Stimulants) fall into this category. Many of you are concerned about weapons. In many cases the speed and damage values of your weapons will change. As part of the conversion, we are maintaining the scale of all the weapons across the servers. This means, that if you had one of the most powerful weapons on the server before CU, you will still have one of the most powerful weapons on the server after CU. Though it is likely the stats will have been altered.
Again this is one of those things that could have better been handled on the forum by communicating with people. The need for this "Blog" in my opinion was a waste of our time...and his. There isn't really anything new in it, and if you've been following all the posts running around you should have already figured most of it out. But...whatever.
Heres the link

Hey, everyone wants to do a blog.... it's the new thing.
I agree though, nothing new here.

I like the blog, it gives Blair the opportunity to update frequently without 175 pages of pure flame per paragraph.

Perhaps....but the thing is nothing new was really added. It's just a recap of the original post and the Dev Responses that followed. But your right, no flame wars this way.

Well I do think there was some reassuring, especially for the uber weapon holders. There was good info there just not pointed at us.

I appreciate that it will give Blair a single, cool, dry (and quiet) place from which to communicate with the players. There is absolutely no way he can spend all day reading these forums, and still do his job =).
Edited: Yes, I agree with Darkfallen, the "all items transfer" paragraph was reassuring.

Totally agree....but from what TH made it sound like it was gonna be a whole doc answering many FAQ's. There was what 5? And those 5 where already answered in the thread. I mean yea good info for those people that don't want to fish through the dev tracker or the CU thread. But....Maybe I was just expecting more....usefull information.
I dunno. I'm happy he took the time to do it, I just think it was a waste of time. As the ST's always say in the cantina's every5 seconds"Move along, Nothing to see here!"; I guess thats just how I feel about the "blog".

Lucky for us they said the blog will be a place for updates every few days. I didn't expect much from the 'hello' post. =) Other than the short reassurance, yep, just another cannon foddered stormie.

I totally agree, too. That's what I was asking for in my post--a central location with the actual stuff that is "known" and not speculation by people that really don't know for sure, but are making reasonable guesses. Not sure why they aren't using the link on the web page, but its a start.
I, too, hunger for actual information that is useful though. I'm in a state of flux--do I buy Med Exp tapes? I'm a 10-pointer, looking to do my own buff packs. Right now, I have to say "No, I'll pass." Too risky for a relatively casual player like me. Takes me too long to earn the creds.
Hopefully more useful stuff will show up shortly!
Regards!
