Thread: Good Idea or Bad Idea: Area Wound Medpaks?

Hello,
I've been thinking about it, and it really seems to me that as a Doc, instead of having a wound medpak D/E that can heal massive amounts of damage on one person (though that is sometimes usefull), I'd most of the time find it much more usefull to be able to heal several people at once for smaller amounts. Like an area wound heal for like 400-800 points that got divided between the people in the area of effect that need healing in that stat. So if there were 4 people and my heal generates 800 points of healing, they'd each be healed for 200 points. If it only generated 400 points of healing, it would heal them each for 100.

I think this would be usefull because often times I have a lot of people with a relatively small amount of wounds instead of one or two people with massive wounds. In that case I still end up spending a LONG time and a lot of medicine to heal a small amount of wounds overall.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I _think_ that Combat Medics have a similar skill to the one you've described. It might be just for damage though, in which case a Doctor version for wounds would be not a bad idea.

That is correct, CM's have area damage stims. Doesn't seem like such a leap from area damage stims for CMs, to area wound paks for Docs. CM's are supposed to be better at healing damage (hence ranged and area stims), and Docs are supposed to be better at dealing with wounds (hence Medpak D/E and Resusc kits). I just find that as a Doc, most of the time I have a lot of people coming with a few wounds instead of a few people coming with a lot of wounds. That's why I'd like an area wound pak.
