I've been wondering that too. How does rez work? Do you get rez sickness like in EQ or what?

Yes. Its prolly the best part of being a doc. It works great. Somebody dies.. They don't clone. You walk over. Use the res pack on em. And poof, they pop back up. It also heals wounds if they have any. No downtime for using it.

Our group of 4 is basically waiting for me to get res before we try any more dungeons. Why? It's just too frustrating to crawl deep into a cave and have one member or our party die and have no way to get back to us, so we have no choice but to crawl back out to meet them. Also, frequently the journey to these dungeons is very dangerous for someone to traverse solo, so they sometimes die again trying to get back to us. IMHO revive is ESSENTIAL if you want to do anything more adventurous than standard mission runs.

The rules of res kit

1) do not leave them in your main inventory. Because of the "touch of death" bug if you heal someone with mind wounds the game will use a res kit charge to try to heal the mind wounds then you end up wondering where you res kit went.

2) you must be grouped with the player to use res. The work around is that you can type /invite to a corpse and group with it.

3) if the player presses reclone they are SOL. It's not your fault if they're stupid

4) tell them to move out the way. They will still have very little mind pools and there also a bug where there stats will be locked lower than they should be.

5) after the next patch all mobs will target the doctor if they use a res kit. AI improvement. So make sure you trust your groups ability to protect you.

6) it requires master Wound treatment to use and Master med crafting to make yourself. I case people don't know this.

You don't have to be grouped to use rez, you can also tell them to consent you. Then you can rez them.

I'm a Master Medic and was wanting Combat Medic. Then I heard about Docs having the res skill. Now I'm not sure if I should pursue the Combat Medic, besides the ranged heal (which if your group has combat disclipine does that realllllly matter?), what can a Combat Medic do better than a Doc? Any assistance or advice on this would be GREATLY appreciated. By the way, I'm currently on Tatooine in Mos Espa(Chilastra server) doing missions for creds and going to Mos Entha for Combat exp. I've only left the planet three times for short trips, once to Naboo to pick up aProbot with Med Module from Castorius (an excellent Master DE), another time to Naboo to have my wpn sliced, and once to Correllia for my Chitin Armor. I'm still havin a great time, and can't wait toexplore some of the other planets!! OHHHHH and another thing I've maxed out my pistol tree in marksman, are any other healers going the pistoleer route? I'm trying to balance out my healing capablity with the ability to protect myself. I dont feel the need to obtain Master in any field (except for medic of course), I'm just trying to build the character I can go huntingand exploring with my friends. =)

If you seeme online and I can help you with something. Give me a poke or send me an email.

As above, you do not need to be grouped to rez.

Be ready to toss a Stim D on them when they get up (HAM low)and remind them to eat/drink something (To top off secondary stats).

And YES, you get aggro.........whhheeeeeeeee

Also, even if they close the cloning option window they will automatically clone, so the best advice is "if you are slain DON'T TOUCH THE KEYBOARD until I get to you."

You don't need to be grouped or consented to res somebody. It won't matter if monsters aggro on the healer when he resses, you shouldn't be worrying about ressing somebody during combat anway. Wait until after combat and then res the fallen. Concentrate on keeping the guys that are still alive healed up while in combat.

I take that back.. I just ressed 2 people.. 1 I was able to res just fine.. 2 I got the you need to be grouped or consented to res. SO we now need to be consented or grouped to res some people.

This confused me for a while until I realized that if I wasnt grouped with someone and I get the "you need to be blah blah" the dead guy had to type /consent and then it works.
