I think it has to to with using a recussitation (sp?) kit on a player who's still alive, which does odd things with their stats. Haven't actually seen this happen, though I've heard of doctors killing Bounty Hunters with it ^_^

I am not high enough up the Doc tree yet to have tried it myself, but this is what I've heard. Normally, the resusc kit restores a dead player to something like 20% of their max HAM. Well, apparently the game doesn't check to see if you actually have used it on a dead player, so it just forces the players stats to 20% - instant damage of like 600-900 points on all three pools. Not too difficult from that point to kill someone. Basically it's an exploit which I presume will be fixed ASAP.

I think this bug might have been fixed. I tired it last night with a groupmate who went down to mind incap. I thought, why not just rez them and they would at least have a small mind wound and not have aggro, so they could move towards the back of the group and hopefully still stay up while provideing that needed extra firepower. I got a message letting me know I dould not do that. So this may very well be fixed now. ANyone else want to try doing this in some other situations? Unfortunately there have been no patch notes mentioning the matter.

The trigger for the "touch of death" that the res kit see mind wounds and tries to heal them. When you use the TOD it will heal mind wounds. if there are no mind wounds on the player then it will not trigger.

I keep hearing talk of this, is it some kind of game bug? I am a novice doctor, and I don't want to kill my paitents by mistake.

The "Touch of Death" is a bug where the Revive Kits count as Health Wound kits. So if a player has a health wound, and you heal the wound it would "revive" the player instead. The reason it is called the Touch of Death is that when you are healing the wounds on a player with full health, the revive would set their HAM to ~100 per stat and a big -xxxx would appear above their head...it also gives them an incap animation.

If you had a med droid around, the bug served as a jury-rigged mind heal when out fighting =p You could also use it to heal your mind wounds if there were no entertainers around.

This is still very much around. Was sitting in the med center last night and wasted 3 charges of my res kit before i realized what was happening.
