Thread: Doctor Crafting!?!?!

Let me Begin by saying That I am a Novice Doctor...One box away from Master Doctor! Ok...My main problem with Doctor Crafting is that of all the Components and Pharmaceuticals a Doc can make, none in the lower level crafting boxes allow for more than 100+ XP!

Consider for a moment any other prof. that requires crafting. Now lets say I were to take the Engineering Tree, and go up for Architect! I could make Deeds for Personal Mineral Mines to get 500+ Structural XP. This is the lowest level Arcitectual Deed and yet it gives plenty of XP. Now lets take for instance a Stim E, One of the Higher Level items with a complexity of 32. I craft this Item with full Experimentation and all required Components..Not to mention components that are required from a factory! At the end of my Process of crafting I am lucky to get 100Xp, which is dependent on the success of the product.

Now your probable thinking you get so much XP for the Deed because it takes ~250 resources to craft. If you look at the Schematic for Stim E you see that it requires oh, 104 resources...which needs 3 identical liquid suspension from a factory. BTW you only get 1/10 or ~10% of the Items you craft from a Factory now. So all in all you Get about ~140XP with the componets XP factored in for crafting a Stim E!

Ill I ask is that the XP Giving for medical Pharmaceuticals is increased. For I dont want to have to craft 14 Stim E's to get 1000XP and then have to make 32K more XP for Master Crafting!

Make Action or Health woundpack-B's, much less work and more XP than Stim-E's.

Get 5 chem crafting kits. Empty your inventory except for resources required. Make 10 biological components, 10 solid delivery components, 10 chemical components. 2 rounds each of the kits, then make the 10 wound kits. That's 30x35 EXP + 10x105, or 2100 total. Should take about 10 minutes to do, or a little under an hour for 10,000. Doesn't take long at all to max, too fast even really.

Medical crafting is just fine. Even though you get less exp, you require less to advance. I need like 15k for first tier of med crafting. In comparison, I need 32k for first tier of chef (and first tier of chef doesn't have any items over 70 exp). Theamount of experience per resource usedseems about the same.Andthereis abig advantage is that you actually USE what you craft. Most other artisan professions throw away most of what they grind, but it's pretty easy to keep up with use on your stims, or sell them.

Oh, haha, it might have been nerfed in the last 2 weeks. Think I read something about that. The components used to give 35 each, and the wound pack or stim-B itself gave 105.

First of all a Doctor is not an Artisan Class, it is a Medical class. People who take Doctor or Combat Medic take it because they want to play a support role, not a crafting one.

Secondly, we do use our meds, but the problem is that we make too many. 20 well-crafted Stim Ds will last me two days, and would have netted only around 2k xp total including components. I don't have the space for that many stims, nor do I want thousands of substandard stims from the time when I had lower medicine assembly/experminetation skills sitting around in my bank when the ones I craft at Master levels are flat out superior. An analogy on an Artisan Level would be saying that you could craft hundreds of low-experimentation/quality weapons or armor to skill your way up, then make a living on them once you hit Master Levels. It doesn't work all that well. I threw away 90% of my crafted meds, simply because I couldn't use them up or sell them.
