Thread: Ressing someone not in your group?

The other day i got a tell from someone whom, knew i was a Doc and i was in the area. They asked me for a rez. so i wander over to him and try to rez him. clicked on my rez pack, system message says i can't rez someone who is not in my group or that i don't have consent from. so i tell him to consent me, he says he did and i get the same message. he ended up having to clone after about 5min of trying to get it to work.


so what command does someone have to type in in order for a doc to rez them?

I've had people give me consent in the past and that has worked. Just have them type:


/consent [yourname]


It has worked for me before.

I had a friend who just invited me into a group.


I couldnt invite him, but he could invite me.

if he did give you consent, you would have sees a messege on your screen confirming it.

As the others said /consent yourname. Or, I usually just try to /invite them into a group with me (most players just don't 'get' how to consent you, even when you explain it lol).

Why would they make it this way? it's clumsy and barely documented and best, and annoying and frustrating at worst..



Why not have a confirmation box pop up (like a group invite) after you click REVIVE but before the Revive pack is used? It's *real* pleasant to see someone laying dead there and trying to explain to them /consent (name) when they don't speak much english..



SOE should rethink their GUI--ppl are MUCH more responsive to graphic dialog boxes than having to know some arcane /command.

Uh, so WE don't want it, and YOU don't want it in for PvP--then why is it still there??

I think they should make some of these changes too. For one thing, I've suggested in the past, and it was added to the 'big list' that players not be able to clone for some brief period of time after being deathblown. Like maybe 30 seconds or a minute. This gives Docs at least a brief period to attempt revives on the player, or if too far away, at least notify the player that they are nearby. I also suggested, and it was added to the 'big list' that they add a gui popup as you suggest here. Who knows what the devs will do about this.
