Thread: i have a couple of questions about buffing...

im a novice doc, and am planning on going 0-2-0-0 so i can buff myself.

what i wanna know is:

1) do buffs have a med usage requirement, if so what is the highest buff i would be able to use on myself. if i cant could a master doctor experiment the usage down so i could use it??

2) what type of buffs would i be getting out of the highest quality buffs i could use??

3) how long would they last??

I think you mean to go 0-0-0-2 as enhancements are under crafting (all the way to the right). I can make Enhance ABC right now and med uses range from 45-58 That Ive noticed. I don't usually look. Depending on experimentation you can get more boost and duration. With 2 levesl of crafting you would have 7 experimentation points. Most likely able to make them last about 30 minutes give or take.

No, he needs to go 0 2 0 0 to be able to use the enhance packs. The ability to use the packs is at Advanced Wound Treatment.


And to answer your question about the buffs, the packs have Medicine use reqs, so unless someone can really experiment down the D enhance packs, you are probably looking at only being able to use Enhance B's yourself.

Currently buffs medicine use reduction experimentation is bugged at the moment. When you put in some experiment points it raises the medicine use requirements. At least it was last time I tried to make some.


If this has changed, please post.

Unless if you get enhance packs with advanced components you're talking about a max of 400 point enhancements and as low as under 100 with the basics to enhance.

Yes, ease of use experimentation on buffs is still bugged.

Yeah, you're likely to be relegated to Enhance A's. There is no way to get the med use down without using really exceptional resources to lower your base. Other than that, I can't see anything else for you to do without devoting more points into Med Knowledge.

Just want to make sure I understand this:


My Doctor skills are currently 0/0/2/2 . I made up a batch of enhancement packs and went to the med center, and I can't use them at all. Not on myself, and not on any other player of any faction. When I look at the detail view it says it requires medicine use 62, my medicine use is 70 so I thought I should be able to use it.


Early on in my medic career I tried to use a Stim-C and got the message that I lacked the skill to use it. Currently I'm unable to buff anyone but I get no such message, so I'd assumed it was a bug and was about to report it as such.


Are you saying that the reason it doesn't work is because I don't have wound treatment 2 yet, and that when I get that skill I'll be able to use the enhance packs?

oops, i just found out from a character builder that i still (super conveniently) had 5 skill points left, so if i had a 0-2-1-0 doctor, what type of buffs could i use then?? and how much would they buff for, average??

lots of variation on these,but this is what i have seen..


enhance B, med use required is 56, buff 150-400 for 56 mins


enhance C, med use required is 65, buff 300-600 for 86 mins


enhance D, med use required is 78, buff 500-1000 for 98 mins


Not exact but thats the general range that i have seen


You have to have adv wound treatment to get enhance skill

In order to use enhance d's, which are really the only way to go, you need to have your skills set 0/2/3/0. Since med use experimentation is bugged, you will require at least 75+ med use(med knowledge 3 or higher)and second level wound treatment to get the enhance skill.
