Thread: How much to tip?

I was just wondering what kind of tip is expected by all of you doctors. I always go get healed after having the wounds for one death and tip 1k to my doctor. Is that a good tip or am I jipping him? Also, I'm curious about these doctor buffs. About how long do they last and how much extra should I tip to recieve those? I was thinking 2-3k for the healing and buffs but I dont know much about them so I'd like to hear your feedback on it. Thanks for reading, any help would be appreciated =).

1k is a wonderful tip, those that do tip usually give me in the area of 200. I've had people with over half HAM wounds tip nothing, though, so I don't really _expect_ a tip -_-

I disagree.. 50 or 100 is not better than nothing. I had this guy walk into a med center where I was the only doctor around. His HAM was at 25% (but at least his BF didn't affect healing rate). After I healed his health to max, he tipped me 50.

To me that was an insult. I stopped treating him and did some stuff around the house instead. About 30 minutes later I checked my screen and he was still sitting in the med center.

People should think harder about how much their time is worth to them and tip accordingly for the services given. The same applies for entertainers too. Tip them well, they save you a LOT of time.

Well, Evil Turkey, thank you for asking. Most people never bother. They just assume a 50 cred tip or 100 cred tips is generous, hehe. Well, a 50 or 100 cred tip is better than nothing (and if someone has very mild wounds, is probably even good). A 1k tip like you give is pretty good.

Here's my guide to people. Somewhere in the vicinity of 1/2 to 1 cred per wound is a reasonable and fair compensation. If most people tipped that, I'd be able to pay for my harvesters and factory. As it is, some people tip very generously, some are stingy. I usually break even, but I WOULD like to make some reasonable profit, so that at some point I can buy a small or medium house, and be able to afford better armor, spice for hunting/pvp, food from master chefs to buff HAM, etc. Of course, I can make money other ways, and I do. And I certainly don't expect any particular patient to carry the burden of that. But, being able to heal wounds at a small profit would be nice.

Also, one last tip. If you are being healed by a Doc who is using higher level meds to heal you very quickly, you might want to tip more generously, because those meds are significantly more expensive, and the Doc had to spend a lot of time getting to the point where he/she could make and use them. If you are being healed by a novice medic, tip them closer to the 1/2 cred per wound, since they are using cheaper stim A's. I know as a novice medic healing 10-20 wounds per shot, I would have been happy with 1/2 cred per shot (really I'd still be pretty happy to get even that lol).

Ok, thanks for the advice guys. Anyone know about those doctor buffs? I'm very curious about them.

I am a Master Doctor with the highest level D buffs. I give the first hit for free for a new person, then after that I charge 3k for the round of full buffs. I tell them what my minumum expected buff will be, but it can go up to 1500+. Usually, after seeing what the "free" hit will do, I hook many, and get some return customers. I do not use them if they do not pay....

Yah, that's a pretty bad tip. I'm willing to be understanding if they are new players. I haven't healed the same person's wounds often enough to keep track of who tips badly, though. I've healed a few people from all black health/action and gotten no tip at all. But I figure people in that condition should save their money anyhow.

Since I've reached a point where I don't want/need any more medical exp, I've basically been going into med centers when I want some downtime; I don't go around healing, though. I just sit down and kick back, ignore anyone crying for healing, read a little, answer e-mail, chat, whatever.

Eventually, a veteran who is 70%+ wounds and wants out fast will notice the title and send me a tell. Usual offer is 5k, although really, anything 1k and up is okay. For 5k, though, I bring out the best: medpack d's with the advanced shell, quality resources, and great experimentation. If they're willing to pay for it, I'll get people on their way in under a minute. For smaller payments, I spend a little more time and use C's. As I'm in the med center to relax and talk, more time isn't a big deal. I guess to me, if you want out faster, tip heavier. But know who can do what. Tipping 5k to a guy who uses B medpacks won't get you out any faster.

As far as buffs go, I don't do that, as they tend to wear out unexpectedly. Maybe if they fix them, someday, when the bug actually shows up on the "In Development" page...I want to see a doctor section in there.
