Thread: Resurrection: I don't get it?
How does this work?
1 - Is it healing an incapacitated player while they're incapacitated?
2 - Is it healing a player once their slain?
3 - Is it saving a player from perma death?
If it's #1, can't combat medics do the same thing? I'm still novice medic and was able to bring an incapacitated player out of the incap. state just yesterday with a simple heal.
If it's #s 2 or 3, I don't get how that works. (If you're slain, you get cloned automatically... if you're perma-dead, you're perma dead, right?) Please help me understand, thanks!
And yes, players can be un-incapacitated with a heal.
Resurrection in SWG (revive player, using resuscitation kits) is used to revive a deadcharacter BEFORE they select a cloning facility.
Let's say you're with a group 5km from the nearest city and somebody gets killed. Instead of that player respawning at the cloning facility 5km away and trying to run back (even worse if you're fighting in a dungeon), the doctor uses a revive pack to bring them back to life. The cloning facility window disappears and the character is alive again on the spot where they died.
Probably about the most useful ability for any group in the field.
Did my first res yesterday, nice feature. Made having thedoctor along worthwhile. As a matter of fact, now that res packs are more common on the bazaar, I am no longer working up my crafting for doctor, just keeping the master surgeon (wound treatment 4) and putting most of the rest into combat medic. Hopefully the CM meds will start turning up on the market soon also so I cna put those points into Pistoleer. I think that a mix of the healing abilities of the Doc, the range healing of the CM and the fighting abilities of one of the Elite Marksman makes for a **edit** good Field Medic. Sure I may not hold any Master titles, but I can take anyone in the Cantina with a pistol...bring it on you Imperial lackey's.

Good Question. Have been wondering that myself. I hope so. Put like a timer on it. Your friends have say 1 hour to resuscitate you before you perma-die. Could make for some interesting faction fighting. One group desperately trying to get a Doc over to revive the Jedi. The other group (presumably Imp aligned), fighting to control the area so that no Docs can get a revive on the Jedi. Heck, if you assume that the timer resets each time the Jedi gets revived, you could POSSIBLY have it shorter than 1/2 hour.
The possibility of 'Reviving Jedi' is really irrelavent since there might never be a jedi on your server, and the cances ofyou know oneare mostly likely going tobe slim
