Thread: Character Template help
Help/Comments pls. Thanks. (Skill points taken from Stratics, I have not checked them vs ingame)
I wanted to take just part of CM for the range but its really all or
nothing since the ranged heals use CM stem packs not the normal ones it
seems. If anyone knows diffrently please let me know.
I originally wanted to take a few Ranks in CH, but looks like I have to
loose CH all together
Its just way to exp since I have no other Skills
that need Scout as a prereq.
CH Scout prereq (4/0/4/0) = 58
CH wanted skills (3/2/0/0) = 27
Total = 85
Variation #1
Gives the ability to make the CM medice which can heal at range and can
also heal aoe. Gives the ability to make stat poisons as well (not overly
interested with that part). Limited Pistol, limited solo but great healer.
Is ranged heal and aoe heal worth the mastery. Not sure on how effective it
is.
Total Points = 250
Medic = 77 4/4/4/4
Doctor = 64 4/4/4/4
Combat Medic = 64 4/4/4/4
Marksman = 43 0/4/0/4 (Pistol plus Ranged support, I like
threaten shot and nothing else to really spend points on anyways)
Novice Pistoleer = 1 0/0/0/0 (For Health Shot 2)

Variation #2
Loose the ranged and aoe healing ability but pick up a little more fighting ability. I don't like most of the Pistoleer stuff as most of the skills besides Body Shot 3 and Heart Shot 2 are
supposedly worthless, but the bonuses to hit will probably be necessary.
And the bonuses to melee defence might be helpful as well. Might keep me in there healing a little longer without having to heal myself or I die.

I had along hard study of a 'similar' template, and eventually came up with this:
Novice Artisan
Master Medic
Scout 4/0/4/0
Marksman 0/4/0/0
Doctor 0/4/3/4
Creature Handler 4/4/0/0
Novice Pistoleer
(0 Points left)
This template has some great things about it, you can:
Craft all Doctor buffsexcepting Secondary stat Enhance D's
Res and Enhance
Shoot quite well, use 2 stackable bleeds, and the DX2 for acid attacks where the situation suits it.
Tame and Control some great pets, including Gaping Spider Hunter, Gnarled Rancor, Toxic Merek Battlelord.
Harvest meat for your meds and run quite well over terrain.
Not for everyone, just a template I though was very good. ![]()
Everyone has their own "best" character, but I'll give you my opinion, anyway. You can do whatever you'd like with it.
First of all, if you're not interested in the poisons/diseases that combat medics can utilize, don't bother with combat medic. Doctors can do more and, in practice, the limited healing range isn't that horrible to work with. You just need to make sure that those people that you're adventuring with know better than to run from the doctor.
Of course, if you're not that interested in the Pistoleer skills, you may want to think about adding some Scout (for Terrain Negotiation and Creature Harvesting) or Artisan skills (for Surveying) as those things can make your life a lot easier.
