Does anyone else have as much trouble as I do trying to get herbivore meat in large quantities? I wish we could switch this to a mined resource instead ofa harvested resource for advanced CRDMs.

Very difficult at best to do yourself. I've had to hire out several different hunters to get herb meat in large quantities. Sadly, I have to pass this cost onto my customers (not much, but enough to cover my expenses).

Hunters need doctors for healing, doctors need Hunters for resources, kind of closes the loop.

I think the problem is that hunters aren't aware that doctors will pay 25-30credits per unit for high quality Avian and Herbivore meat and/or they don't know where to go find it.

You Hunter types can make a LOT of money if you do this right.

Rule #1... Don't bring me a stack of 200 meat... try to make at least 2500 in a stack.

Rule #2... Find the best, you want high overall quality and potential energy

If you are on Bria that is Corellian avian meat and Tatooine herbivore meat. Good luck and good hunting.

If you have novice scout, get 2 or 3 faction pets and go hunting. I got over 5k units in a single day doing this.

I used a faction pet on Dantooine to do this. Just tell pet to attack lair and wait about 30 seconds. Anything that attacks the pet 2 or 3 times won't attack me and I just sniped them.

Helped that I was high rifleman and could AE the mobs. Picket Longhorns gave 90 to 105 meat each this way. I have only Hunting I on the scout tree so I can harvest my own kills.

Harvesting on your own is all well and good but, for the large scale medical suppliers, there's just no way to gather enough meat on your own, regardless of how great your pets are. You say you can get 4k in a day? I can use that much up in a matter of a couple hours. Besides, for the large scale suppliers, we spend so much time making things that we don't have time to hunt.

Right now, there's some good herbivore meat on Flurry (OQ 996, PE 658) that's going for up to 24 credits per unit. I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous. Not that I want to minimize the effort put in by those that hunt this stuff, but think about it. If you want to make a stimpack B using this stuff, you're going to pay 384 credits just for the meat. Now add in the costs of everything else and you've gotta get a pretty good price for that stim in order to make much of a profit.

Is herbivore meat the bane of the medical profession? Maybe not the worst thing in the world, but it's an ever-present frustration.

I have a little different take then MC, I'd pay 24CPU for that quality meat. Because with that meat, I could put together a very good ACRDM adding that to the other components I have and I'm looking at the power stims (40+/400+). On Bloodfin those sell for 2k each. I can afford to buy meat at that price when if it's going to push my stims up into that range of quality. This is only because there is a solid market on Bloodfin for those high end stims.

Here's the key. If you can find a market for stims at 2K each, then meat is probably worth 24 cpu. If not, sell your meat and make a mint.

I find herbivore meat easier to find than avian meat. The animals that give herbivore meat seem to give larger quanties per harvest then the animals that give avian meat per harvest.

Now granted you're gonna use more herbivore in the long run, but I've resigned myself not to be in the med selling business becauseI actually want to have fun and explore when I master doctor instead of running all over doing missions for meats and harvester runs.

I'd suggest making friends with the Rangers on your server and trading buffs / meds for meat since they'll be able to gather the most for you.

Cheers!

Bah! I hate only being able to post on the boards at work when I know there is 900+ OQ & PE herbivore meat that has just spawned on Dathomir on Naritus.

The good doctor is gonna be playing scout it looks like for the next couple of days...

Cheers!
