I am working to be a Master DOC, Master CM, but I have come to the conclusion that it leaves me with no real combat skill, with the exception to my poisons, and diseases. If I were to pursue something else, what should I do with my last 18 points? Looking for suggestions. Thanks

nope, you have no combat skills with doc/cm masteries, i'd recommend:

-novice marksman if you want a little better self defense (you'll get the baseline skills and certifications instead of only CDEF's)
-novice entertainer if you want to be able to heal some of your groups mindwounds while camped out in the wild.

he's going to have a hard time being master cm without novice marksman

The bulk of the people fall into 1 of 3 options for this..

1) Put the points into Pistols

2) Put the points into Artisan (for Survey)

3) Put the points into Scout (For Harvesting)

I actually know a LOT of people that toggle between 2 and 3 as needed for resource gathering. If I didn't have a second account doing all the surveying for me, that's what I'd be doing. But since I have that, I just leave my points in scout so I can harvest Herbivore and Avian meat.

Jup. If this is your only account, then #2 is the way to go, cause you gonna need to harvest to make stims.

Now if you have more than 1 account, #3 is way to go, so when you are grouped with your alt you both can harvest.

In my opinion, choice #1 is kinda useless since as Master Doc & Master CM, you really don't have enough points to get good at pistol.

But but it where ever you want. as MDoc/MCM, you will be good no matter what.

Grab Artisan unless you plan to always buy all of your resources.

Other than that you dont really have enough to add in any effective combat profession skills.

However Politician is coming soon, that may be something to consider
