Doctor Archive

I am a CM, but I have been considering going to Doctor. Also I have always been some ranged profession, so I was thinking about going to Pikesman.

So does anyone have any opinions on a Doctor/Pikesman combo, is this a good idea? is this a bad idea?

Just playing around with ideas since I may want to drop ranged weapons.

what I mean is can this work? Not in a powergaming sense but in the sense of can I survive with this class combination...? don't want to work on it then find out that this combination was a mistake.

I just switched from ranged to melee myself but to TK. Since healing draws so much aggro I find that the TK innate armor + CoB + powerboost + enhancers make a lot of encounters much more survivable. Plus I don't have to spend a lot of money on armor .

heh yeah I noticed that being a CM I get alot of agroe, I tank when I shouldn't be tanking

I have another question though, do doctors get CL? So if I go to Pikesman/Doctor and master both I will be a CL of 80?

Yes, doctor counts toward CL. I have master doc/master pistols/4000 CM, and I'm level 80.

Ok, I am a Master Pikeman/Master Doctor. It is a good and very viable combination. Now saying that just understand that pikes deal decent damage but usually are out damaged by rifles or swords. But that is fine with me, I can still tank when it is needed. If i am not the one tanking, then i can debuff with armor break, intimidate, stun, or warcry(don't use warcry that often). If one of those don't stick then i can just use leg hit or if heal someone in the group that needs it. I don't really worry about keeping everyone in the group buffed, i just try to heal them if i can and keep taking the creatures down. I like this template a lot and what is even wierder is i didn't become a doc until after the CU. Plus if u are tanking a good way to keep the aggro on you is to taunt, CoB, then bacta infusion on yourself Also u can stay alive a little longer with your heals, just run out of action quickly even with the action buff going.
