Hey fellow doctors.
The other dayI did the nightsister stronghold theme missions. Obviously anticipating some great reward when I was finished, I rumaged through my inventory but found nothing at fist. I did notice a stimB, but didnt think much about it. Just thought it was an old one I had left there. Then I noticed that it had only 4 uses left. I was just about to destroy it when curiosity got the better of me. I checked the stats and whadda ya know; it had not only a healing effect of 286 on health and action (not that great), but also on mind! Not yet clear on whether this was loot or a gift from the reverend mother at the stronghold, I checked to see if doctors could now make these stims. Ofcourse they couldnt. But what if they could (btw...the med use was only +5 so anyone could use this stim)?
No doubt any doctor with any sense in his brain starts drooling over the possebilities of such a stim, could it be made. But it got me thinking what the impact would be. In PvE I would be pretty much invinsible (I'm a master swordsman too). No more vasarian brandy, muon gold or what have you to secure your mindpool. Thats the chef profession out the window. People would be able to laugh at combat medics with their silly mind diseases and poisons. You could just keep healing your mind untill the doctor could reach you with a cure-pack. So thats combat medics profession out the window (at least for PvP). And not to mention the armor crafting profession. I do use armor even though I am virtually always buffed, but I more oftenwear armorfor appearences sakes than I do it for real necessity (except in PvP ofcourse). Now I wouldn't have to buy a helmet anymore. Scratch one more profession.
Seen strictly from a doctors point of view, I would LOVE it if the devs made this stim available for us. But I do see the impact it would have on the entire community. Maybe if only master docs could use it the impact wouldnt be that great? Or just a realy high med use value. Such as enhancement D's and the like.
What are your views on such a stim? Good, bad....don't give a hoot?

that stim rocks, but I agree, it would impact to many profesions in a negative way to make it a common item, if on the other hand they made the components rare and costly to get, ala the alderan flora for the dead eye stim, then it would help pull money out of the economy(travell tickets), and be a good last resort Item for docs, cant count the amount of times I rezed a group member only to have my mind gimped so bad that I got killed.

umm damage stimpacks... i have lots of them
some mobs drop those stims

What if you made the stim craftable by Master Medic with a med use approprate to that level? It would give master medics slightly more use than a placeholder to Doctor as well as keep the value of Chef and such. There should probably be a cap on such a stim tho... I would hate to see a damgage stim E or some such... that would be a little to much.

Or alternatively - make it only craftable at Master Doc, and can only be used by the MD on himself!

Perhaps this is foreshadowing to the future combat revamp, which eliminates direct-pool-attacking. If this does occur, this may be what the normal stim becomes. If it doesn't, however, I think Master Docs should be able to craft these. They could use rarer ingredients, and heal something like 1100/1100/400 to maintain balance. I think they should be able to be used on others, but should have a med use of 100, so only MDs can use them (not those wannabe 0/2/4/0 docs).

i got many of stims A which heasl mind from sturmies.
All heal 50 HAM and have 5 uses, except 1 it had 50 uses.
They rgood vor mind incapt ppl :-)
