Hey all

I've not started doctor yet but i'm going to start gathering the resources for it. What i was wondering was if anyone could help me out with what harvesters i need to get to harvest what.

What do i need to harvest fiberplast, lokian wild wheat, dantooine berries and domesticated oats.

Cheers in adavnce and i know where to get the rest bar the domesticated oats so if you could also tell me what planet to get that from i would appreciate it very much.

You will need

Amineral harvester for getting dolovite iron.

A floral harvester for the oats and wheat and berries.

A chemical harvester for the fiberplast and the clas4 liquid petrochem.

A moisture evaporator for the Talusian water vapor.

Along with some combat skill you will also need at least Novice Scout in order to be able to harvest meats from creatures. One of the most important meats is Avian meat. If you dont have scouting skills, you wont be able to harvest from them. And if you dont have at least some combat skill, you wont be able to kill them. Doctor, is by far the most skill point consuming profession of all 32 (if you are a crafter)

A good idea is to get some means of harvesting your own power for these rigs. Whether it be wind, solar or ion. But you can also buy it on the bazaar or from a vendor. But if you plan on crafting your own meds for quite some time, then I recommend getting an ion-generator.

The above mentioned harvester all come in small or large sizes. The more they extract per hour, the more money they will cost you (ofcourse). An ion fusion generator will run you in the area of 150-200k on the bloodfin server. You'd have to check your local vendor for prices on your server. Here's a pointer though: If they extraction rate for a large harvester is around 13, its a pretty good one and you need not waste time searching for better ones.

Here's a little more advice: If you dont plan to be a doctor for very long, dont waste money on harvesters for that purpose alone. It is quite the investment that few can afford when they are just starting out. No, just buy your resources from a vendor. There are quite a lot of them, and considering the time and money needed to upkeep these harvesters, you need to carefully consider your need for these resources. Howerver I do not recommend buying meats (especially) Avian meat. Yes it is time consuming to aquire it, but seeing that the realy good meats go for around 200cpu, you can imagine what this will do to your revenue.

Just a few thoughts from me. Hope it helped you get started.

Domesticated oats are found on every planet. The schematic isn't planet specific, as it is with ABECs.

Use swgcraft.com to find which planet has the best current domestic oats spawn and catch a shuttle there to plant your harvester.

Depending on your galaxy it may take several months to get a good stockpile of resources, especially if you're making buff packs.
