Yesterday, I hadsomeone walk in with a disease. Having read these forums, I knew that there had been some grumbling about getting players used to paying for heals. It was a noob and his friend, so I asked for 30 credits. (My doctor friend had done the disease heal, but me, being a little bit newer to doc, got the bucks. She didn't want any) He struggled with tipping me, opening the trade window and other noob stuff, and finally his friend just tipped me 1k for the trouble. Not a bad deal. And now I'm quite proud of myself. Because when that noob grows up and becomes a 1337 |)[_]|)3, maybe he will tip some docs out there too.

hah, reminds me of my first experience with actually trying to be a medic a month or so ago.

I too remember when paying for healing was not just something you should do, but something you did without thinking about it.

Healed some guy for a total of about 2k in wounds, mostly in substats, and it took me a while as I was just hitting novice doc a few minutes before that. So I finish, tell him he's all good and he just starts running out.

Frankly I was shocked, and casually asked (accidentally in spatial) "Jesus doesn't anyone tip for this anymore?"

The guy ran back in and dropped 5K on me, and bowed.

So I've devised a new method. I just tell them they're good and the bill's in the mail. Sometimes that'll remind them they were just done a service by someone not grinding through a profession, and they'll tip. I just decided if they don't, I'm going to send out a pre-formatted email to them in the guise of a medical bill from the hospital.

I tip docs for heals...you want to know why, because it's a rarity to find a doc who isn't too friggin busy tumble healing to heal the wounds of his fellow platers anymore. I did Master CM and Master Doc as my first two professions. I wanted to do something different and changed. But if I was tumble healing and someone came in with black bars (right before I dropped it from the Corvette) I would heal them and they would tip me. It seems logical and I would like to throw out a thank you to Gabriel, a doc that healed me the other day, and any others who have healed me.
