Thread: Buffing Doc Sales question Best Times Durring the week

Hi All,
First, I hate sitting around a starport and spamin out Doc Buff Messages. Ugggg I'd rather be shooting something, but you have to admit the creds are good. I mainly make my creds by selling the packs. For some reason I'd rather factory run than buff people.
So I took a vacation, made some toons on other servers, saw that buffs range in price and best locations to buff people are pretty similar across galaxies no surprise there.
But in talking to docs, I was not able to come to a concesus on WHEN durring the week are the best times to buff.
Thought I'd get some perspectibe from the boards. My goal would be to supplement my income only durring those times, if you catch where I am going.
So I thought I'd make a quick post.

I normally buff publicly on the weekends (friday night [central time US] and saturday all day) This usually yields the highest number of players, and the least amount of "sit and wait for a person to come anywhere near you, who is also not a doc or 'spam-botting'"
The best money however (not for the time spent sitting - but buff for buff, as you're not competing with 30 others) has got to be early morning my time (US Central) or especially right after a server re-set, which 99.9% of the time happens in the early morning here.

There are two schools on this:
1.) When the most people are on. Fridays and Saturdays US time (depending on server population) can get you a lot of business in the popular spots, even if there are many other docs on and buffing.
2.) Offtime buffers. Sometimes, being the only live buffer on the server can be a good thing.
Generally any time you play should be ok. You'd probably get more cash off-time, because on many servers Popular places (like Coronet) people undercut each other to get customers. Depends on your server though.

These are the time frames that seem to have the busiest traffic (from my experience)
- Weekends
- Hours immediately after the time kids start coming out of school (3-5pm e.s.t. usually)
- Prime time hours (about 8-10pm e.s.t. or roughly that time frame)
- Early in the morning if you're the only one at an otherwise busy area (e.g. c-net starport)
The advantage of being early in the morning though is if you're the only one, you get to charge more then what you probably would if given competition. Don't think that it means you can start charging some amount that's far higher then what most expect to pay, but getting an extra 1k-2k out of your buffs isn't unusual.
The advantage from the other times are that it's when people are likely to first log on to play, and therefore will need buffs to get them through the night. Even if there's more then one doctor, you're generally going to get a line of your own going since people always want to be in the shortest line possible.

On Eclipse, it's been rather spotty lately. It used to be there wasn't a "best time" or "worst time", even at noon on a Thursday I'd have a decent line. Now, it kindof depends on what you want. I've been buffing at 3am, when all the overseas players are on, and very few docs to be found, so I'd say then's the best time for me. Sure, I have to sit and wait sometimes, but figure you buff 40 people in the first hour, roughly half of those are going to get cloned pretty quickly, so they'll be back. The rest will be back within 2 to 2.5 hours for a recharge to get them through to server reset. Otherwise, I'd say 8-9pm EST is the best time for me, but there's usually a few docs on then, so finding a place to sit can be iffy.
