I've seen several posts recently with docs wanting basic merchant skills includedin master doc ... I made this post on the business and economy forum in responce to one of those complaints and was curious what other docs thought about it ... Please no flames I'm not suggesting this should be implemented, I'm just at work and bored and this idea occured to me ...


What about removing xx4x artisan and inserting a pharmaceuticalline which would includebasic med crafting ...just like 0004 medicdoes now... whichwouldbe the pre-req for novice BE instead of medic 0004 ....leading to all 4 tiers of the artisan professions beaing be pre-reqs for merchant ....



Then 0040 Artisan would lead to an elite Pharmaceutical profession that would make all meds in game ... cm ... doc ... spices and BE ...


I'd hate to take spices away from smuggler ... but how much money do they make from them anyway ... and wouldn't it make sense to go to one person for all these things?


So you're left with a pharmacutical profession that consists of doc crafting, cm crafting, BE stims, and smuggler spices .... the artisan version of this as well as the other2 trees are all pre-reqs for merchant ....


* Smugglers and CM's both get more fighting skills in return ...

* BE's could get more options in the pet crafting field ... or maybe they could add tissues that could be usable in meds ...

*Doc's I'm not sure about .... hrm ....


Still can't think of what would go in place of 0004 doc ... maybe more meds not sure what kind though ... maybe short term 5 minute buffs that give resists to certain types of damage .... up to 20% or somthing ...

Never gonna happen. If you want a Vendor, get Merchant. There really is no reason to even make proposals like this, you are just wasting time.

not saying you specifically. But every crafter and person in the game wants a vendor...its been that way for almost 2 years now. And SOE has said time and time again they if you want it, pick it up. other than that I don't know why people even waste time with this stuff.

i dont think SOE will ever change that many things to satisfy our wants, personally.


i think the reason why non artisian crafting profs (especially docs) keep complaining is that if u wanna master merchant, you can, and have a whopping 158 skill points left, which is enough for another combat mastery, say TKM, and 66 points to almost master another. Where as docs, have only 110 points left, enough for 1 combat prof, again say TKM, and only 18 points left, which isn't close to 66(understnadable considering you have to master an entire profession) But the worst thing is that u can't even get a full combat mastery, not even 1!, if u want to sell those nice meds u can make!!! now knowing i usually tend to be long winded i've sumed it up into 2 phrases:


Master Merchant: can have vendor, 1 elite combat mastery, 66 SP left (almost another elite combat prof)

Master Doc: If u spend the SP to get a vendor, you can't even master 1 elite combat mastery, let alone almost 2.


my solution: make a prof that comes outa artisan(like merchant) just for doctor crafting (so those that really wanna sell em can sell the best)


this also helps master docotors who only get MD for the +25 wound treatment and other mods; who otherwise feel like they wasted all the Skill Points on the xxx4 branch.


or...


give MD's the ability to place and operate a vendor.
