Not being able to make money as a doc is just a side-effect. The reason this is happening is that the profession got rendered useless and doesnt have anything to offer worth paying for - be it by spending the skill points or by giving credits to somebody else that spent the skill points.

I beg to differ. I stood around healing wounds (since Docs and Jedi are the only ones who can) and was tipped hundreds of thousands in an hour or two. Obviously, not as easy as before but still good money.

Eskie is right imho

People can simply heal by going AFK in med center for 30 mins

Others like TKMcan meditate wounds away in a minute or two

And ifthey have the time to do that, that's great. But wouldn'tthey rather be back out there in the field ASAP?

And there are plenty of non-TKMs out there, too - seems more every day, since they're not the powerhouse they once were. And Docs still heal faster - again, it's a time thing.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Healing wounds is one way to make money - being a part of a team that's doing missions is now another. If you have JTLS, that's still a great moneymaker, too - arguably the best solo method, in fact. Besides the cash you loot from ships you destroy, you can also sell your looted parts to the chassis brokers for good coin...

DUDE! This is why doc got meganerfed. There was the rampant opinion that 10 or 12k was too much to pay for a buff (when you could make it back in half a mission) so in order to put docs in thier place they were nerfed of all credit generating abilities. Could have been worse, look what they did to the Armorsmiths. They're still there but the time and resource investment.........

I was a pre-CUnerf doc. I had a good time, healed a lot of people and made a good living.

Two hours on the test center and I dropped doc. No use staying where you're not wanted.

I get a lot of requests to go on hunts with big groups... I tell them unless loot is set to random I won't go, that way I get a chance to get good loot and sell it like they do... Good money there... Also If I hang around a start port I will get people offer me money to buff them and heal them.. .usally 2k-10k....One reason I became doc was because I was so frustrated in trying to find a doc (pre-cu) to buff me in order to play, not to mention the long lines when I did find a doc... So personaly I can understand why they had to reduce buffs. Now buffs are optional and not required to play, but they do help...

And I can understand why the Bio-Engineer makes all the stuff now. Made no sense that Doc's were making all the medicines... to me anyways...

Even tho these changes will cause us to lose vetren doc's, bottom line is they will be replaced with either new players, or old players that never played the profession before and will probably think the profession is tons of fun....

If all you want to do is craft then respec your charater into a Bio-Engineer, then you can make lots of money again..

I was a pre-CU ('crafting' - not 'real') Doc too.

Funny thing is I wish I was an AS, extra resource requirements (and some nasty named resource requirements too) I could deal with. Having the products I crafted reduced in power/usefulness I could deal with.

Having to switch profession (to BE 0004) to be able to make instant stims (questionably the only non-CM med worth making) wasn't quite how I'd envisioned a 'Combat Upgrade'.
