Trying to form a small group of medics/doctors ON CORBANTIS who divvy up planets/resources and share up-to-date medical resourceinfoas they shift so it makes life easier for the bunch of us.

I don'twant to hijack your thread, but I'm going to. 
I have a similar ring already started on Flurry. There might be more, but I've got a network of doctors and resource gatherers that drop me lines whenever something changes (resource shifts, new locations for good meat, high concentration locations, etc). Whenever I hear something through my network, I send the message along to everyone else.
Often, I can hear about resources on far-flung planets and have people harvesting it for me (sometimes I'll even send them a waypoint) without ever having gone there. All in all, it works very well.
If you're interested in contributing, please contact Bulbados (on Flurry). Just remember, ventures like this aren't all just "take, take, take." You need to contribute a bit now and then as well. If you do, you'll be well rewarded. Things like this lead to a large reduction in the amount of time it takes to plant harvesters and gather resources.
