Thread: Skill Point Problems
Okay, I have a dilemna considering I forgot Novice Scout costs 15!!! skillpoints. I planned on being a Master Doc and a Master TKA. I can cover those two but that leaves me with only have Terrain Negotiation of 1.
In this scenario I can do a few things:
1) Suck it up with Terrain Negotiation 1 and go Master TKA/Doc for full master benefits but move slower than a levisquall racing up a mountain
2) Not pick up some high level TKA skills (something like Master Precision Striking/Master box) freeing up 11 skill points to get up to Terrain Negotiation 3 (thus keeping the ability to make the highest level secondary stat buffs, but losing Master TKA benefits)
3) Not pick up some high level Doctor skills (which sucks because Master Doc costs 2 and maybe two boxes in wound treatment speed, 7 total points) so I can get up to Terrain Negotiation 3 (thus keeping all nice little perks of Master TKA but unable to make the highest level secondary stat buffs)
Combine that with the fact that I can't make any of that stuff without adv resources which you can only find yourself if you have 15!!!! point novice artisan, but that's another story.

Scylla (Novice Doctor/TKA)
I would drop artisan and find people to buy the advanced resources from.
Have you consideredskipping the meditate line? Since you will be a master doc and you can heal wounds fast and poison and disease.
Definitely keep master precision striking, unarmed head hit is just too powerful in pvp and dueling, I love it.
But go with what you like ![]()
In the long run (in the scenario), I will have dropped artisan all together. 141 for Master Doc, 92 for Master TKA only leaves 17 points for other stuff. . .meaning 15 into Novice Scout, 2 for Terrain Negotiation 1. . .how lame is that.

I just hate how almost mandatory stuff costs at least 15 points to get. . .really, over time, who won't pick up terrain negotiation? and do they really need to be able to skin a gurnaset to be able to build up enough physical prowess to climb a hill faster than a friggin' snail? Come on! I'm a Master TKA yet I'm so physically inept that slight inclines make me winded. . .retarded.

Well, I suggest dropping Master Doctor and the Doctor's Medicine Crafting line. Teras Kasi Master is worth more than running up hills faster. Most PvP is on level ground anyway, and as a TKA you will need to pick your fights anyway, so you can make sure it is on level ground. Find a Squad Leader companion if you like to travel a lot. A Master Squad Leader (who also needs Exploration IV) can't outrun people in his group, even though they have half the Terrain Negotiation skill.
But seriously.. you want to master one novice profession and two elite professions and still have plenty of points left over. According to the game designers, that is a bit much to ask for.
Don't get me wrong, I know I'm biting off a lot by wanting to master the two professions, but it isn't like I'm trying to become some ubergod because I want skill points left over. The math points out that with full on master status, I have enough left over for another novice skill level and 1 skill box. . .that's it. . .I was just looking for opinions on what other people would do to cut a few corners so that I'm not Dopey McSlowalot.

The easiest solution is usually the most expensive . . . (or was it that I tend to solve problems by throwing money at them?)
Drop Doctor crafting to free up points, lose the annoyance of finding resources and crafting, and buy your stim needs. You can likely make a relationship with a MD to supply you (although Advanced Enhance Packs are by no means cheap, most docs will cut you a deal for a supply of decent/good OQ Herb / Avian meat . . . and you are keeping scouting . . .)
just my 2(0000) credits

Asaur you are correct, but unfortunately that bonus is bugged at the mo, and Master CM's currently aren't getting that bonus.
This Skillpoint question is a good one because if we want to craft our own stuff, we are basically forced into Artisan.
My Target build will be:
Doctor 0-4-4-4
Pistoleer 0-4-4-4
Artisan 0-0-0-2
Scout 2-0-2-0
Marksman 0-4-0-3 (for warning shot)
I'd love to Master Doc or Pistoleer, but I cant seem to find the points anywhere to do it...I want to hunt for my own meat, and I *need* Artisan. ![]()

I faced the same choice a while back. I chose to get master doc/pistoleer, and then alternate between nov scout and nov artisan.
1) you can get by with no terrain negotiation. I do it, just run up cliffs at an angle.
2) I'm not sure how much you paid attention to your example, but that would only get you 3 skill points: 1 for master, 2 for an elite lvl 4 box. You'd need to surrender another lvl 4 box, or a lvl 3 box to be able to get to terrain negotiation 4.
3) Like the poster above, I'd suggest going 4-4-4-0 in doc and buying packs from a more business oriented doc.
What my template was origionally going yo be
Medic 4-4-4-4 (master)
Marksman 4-1-1-4 (only reason for the 1's was to burn the extra 4 SP's)
Doctor 4-4-4-4 (master)
Rifleman 4-4-4-4 (master)
Only reason i can get away with this, is my PA sets me up with good WP's for minerals, and i buy the WP's thati need that they cant provide me with at 100 cr a % point. But ill oly pay after 2 days of harvesting.
my surveyors understand that, and they are fine with it.
And i get good prices on large Quantities of Avian meat from another PA which has mostly scouts in it, im on order for 10k units of some really nice meat right now
they will have it filled in a few days.
Anyhow, Just a little advice in there. Hope it helps some. although i am trying out pikeman before all my skills are used up and i may swap from rifleman to it. It would open up some extra slots for me, maybe i can become an entertainer for a bit ![]()
