Thread: Wait a minute.. -14.99 crafting tool better then a +15? What!?!?!?!
From The October hit list that Zarlor is posting right now:
Part of the problem might come where recent experimentation with the crafting system would suggest that a crafting tool with a negative rating (up to –14.99) is far superior to a tool with a positive rating (+15). Apparently the values seem to be flipped for experimentation calculations, we think. We really would like more consistency and a more reliable, documented, experimentation methodology.
Is that right? Has this been confirmed? How could I have missed that?
Is this the same with the personal crafting stations as well? I mean I have a +39.52 personal Crafting station in my house. I'd hate to think I wasted money on that.
This is base don some experimentation and several confirming posts over ont he Artisan forum. It apparently is only true when talking about the tool and is generally acknowledged that this is likely a bug (so make a garbage tool for now, but keep your good ones for when they get it fixed.)
This does not seem to affect Crafting Stations, though. Those numbers do seem to work correctly. I'm not certain about Droids, though.
OK, I'm going to have to try this tonight then. I'll go make something real fast with some crap metal (I think I have some lying around) and try to force a Crit failure on it to make it really bad. hehe.
