Is it possible to drop some or all of the medic skills, yet retain the doc skills?

I'd assumed not, but had a look on a character skill program, & saw only 64 SP were required for doc! Maybe I'm using it wrong of course

If the medic skills could be dropped, would that reduce my overall healing/med crafting ability?

It's imposibble to drop any skills that are needed to support higher level skills. You require master medic inorder to acheive Doctor or Combat Medic. You have to completely exit out of either/both fields in order to drop medic skills. It's just like asking if a TKA could drop unarmed skills in the brawler tree. The system is set up on a pyramid basis. (kinda)
