I am a new Doc on Chilastra. . got master last night and bought some buff packs. Headed to Lok to help my fellow rebs with some PvP cuz CMs were throwing disease and poison into the cloner. So here I am armed with cure poison and cure disease packs to keep the guys in action. But guess what? When I get diseased and poisoned, I cant heal/cure cuz my mind is dead!
So to all you experienced Docs....what is the secret? How do I perform my doc duties when I myself am diseased or poisoned?

Vasarian Brandy, Vagnarian Canape, and Muon Gold.... and there have been times that even with all that I end up such a mess I can't even get enough mind to cure myself

what are you ham stats?
Mine are
H 500/500/500
A 500/500/500
M 1100/650/650
Then add 2 +400 brandies, and if neccesary +600ish canape.
I can hit my mind up to 1900/2050/2050
Then, if I were really to get into pvp, I'd get buffed.
Buffed mind would be, 2200/1300/1300
Then add brandies, canape, and for the heck of it muon and we'd get 3500/3200/3200 mind stats.

My mind HAM is 1068/1217/615. Looks like I may need some stat migration. Thanks for the tips. . i always depend on brandy and forgetr about my muon. . .and the zabrak equilibrium. It also didnt help that i was trying to PvP with no helmet or chest plate. My doc's vest doesnt protect me too much...lol

I never take my Doc to a PvP situation without a mind buff. Sometimes I end UP in a PvP situation without one at which point Canape and Brandy. I use Muon or Blue Milk (assuming I have room to drink it) as a last resort.

not necessary, canapes wear out to quickly for docs constantly healing and then you have a down period, i recodmend 2 brandies and 2-3 ahrisha (+400 focus each for 45 min)
great combination for doc/rifle and doc in general

And I don't know if you had mind, but accidentaly allowed the posion to tick on you..
So if that was the case.. in PvP.. always watch your own bar like a hawk and as soon as you see poisoned, you only have 10 seconds..
That has happened to me several times.. forgot to watch my own bar.. had the poison tick.. and once it does you are pretty much screwed....

I made an OMG macro that cures my poison and gives a shot of brandy. . . what if I set up a spam /healpoison inat; /pause 7; macro? I dont use macros much but would that protect me and ensure that I cured any poison applied to me?

See the above posts for the brandy etc and check pvp posts on healing macros. make sure you clear your combat queue asap because seconds do count. Golden rule is to look after yourself first. You can always rez another player.

Always heal yourself first. Always. You need to pervent your mind pool from dropping or you are useless.
First set up a macro that
1. peace or clear combat queue (if your a fighter also running a looped macro then you may want to hit /dump first).
2. target self
3. Heal - disease, fire, poison (in that order becease mind wounds are worse IMO than mind damage, even though the tick for most poison is higher than the disease the damage can heal while out in the field the wounds can not be unless they are a TKM).
4. Do not heal damage (stim). It will drain your mind pool and more often than not your health and action do not really need the healing.
Second macro
Same as the first but without the target self.
Hot key the stim pack and don't use it untill the guys health or action is way down. more often than not their buff will heal them fast enough. Best to save your mind pool
Do not use moun unless you have to or die. The downer will kill ya later.
Make sure you have lots of cure packs pulled out of crates. Nothing worse then being attacked and not being able to pull your meds.
If it will be a long battle try Arisha (sp?) it only buffs focus for about 350ish but last 45 min or so. Stagger this with canope. If you just use canope then after 10 min your belly will be almost full but you will not have any buff. Only eat any food when you have to. Keep your belly empty. This goes for brandy as well.
If your buffing others for a battle do not use bivoli. The extra power to the buff will be useless to them anyway becuase PvP is all about the mind pool. The lower buff will still allow them to use specials. Save your belly for your mind food. They may complain about the lower buff but they will tank you when you save thier hinny later by being able to survive long enough to put out the mind fire.
Sit down or meditate (if your a tk) when you can.
Have your armor in a macro so you can take it off fast. Be sure, however, that you have a enough mind pool to put it back on. Nothing worse than taking off your helmet only to find you cant put it back on.
Also, let everyone know to run to you if they get disease/poisoned, every second counts. Nothing more agravating than having someone on your team run from you while your trying to heal them.
Well, thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

You don't have to target yourself. Use the self tag after the command. My whole combat bar is set up with individual heal macros
/curedisease self
/curepoison self
etc, etc

another way is to chage your keymap.
i have stand, healstate self, healself , heal, cure poisen, cure diseas, etc etc, lined up from numbers 1-0 on my kb. this way i do not have to change from my combat bar, that is full of all of my spechails, weapons, burst run, etc. no room for heal at all. (yes its doubled of course)
also you can wast one hotbar button on a macro that switches to another hot bar, put your heals there, and have another button that goes right back to your combat bar. (or food/muon bar etc)
