I am old school you could say. When I first mastered doc I sat in a med center in Dorba Guerfeld of all places, and healed in a med center until I mastered Medic. I suppose I was a noob, but I had a clientel of players that knew I would be there to heal them. I am personally frustrated at the current state of doc's when I see so many tumblers, and the psuedo medics/docs macro healing them. I believe this is why docs are not exsisting in the med centers anymore. As a master doc I still sometimes sit in a med center and heal. It is what docs should do IMO. As it is now, players routinely pick up novice medic for there crates of stim B, and every guild seems to recruit or create doc/buff machines. I am just writing this because I would just like to see Doc's be something again instead of a dime a dozen due to a very well known, and pretty lame exploit.

I don't see docs in med centers much because there is no call for them there, the only places doc are needed now a days is buffing, and in the High High End content, I spent a day (Well a day or so in game time) in the med center to see what it was like (No doc tag up didn't want the buff hounds bugging me) and all total I made 1231 cr and got7 thank you's as they were bolting out the door after being healed this is after a 3 hour stint and I got bored to tears, no one was chatty when they came in just "Heal me" and then they would take off, used to be back in the day people would come in chat with the docs maybe sell/trade some stuff, make a few friends, not anymore people are to busy to sit for a few minutes now "Gotta go grind out my next proff before the next patch... Bye".
I don't remember my point when I remember it I will be back, I gotta run and go grind out another proff before the next patch

I, being a former doctor do remember the days where I would sit down in the anchorhead tavern and heal people. I healed them not only for the experience but for other reasons as well. People would chat with me and sometimes even roleplay. I remember when Anchorhead could never become taken over early in the game. At that time Ancorhead was very populated and there were a lot more people to heal. I remeber those good times in the med center making friends with the entertainers that were there. I sometimes would join an early tusken raid or so. And I sometimes would go out and heal people when we were being raided. I remeber one time when therer was a huge npc raid with atst's, I had a lot of fun. But you guys are right, all docs are needed for today is for buffing and healing wounds. I wish the game would be like those early days...

That is your opinion...I never go to med centers but if I am out and about and not in the middle of something I am always available to heal people...as long as they are not rebel(just playing the faction thing). Nowadays so many players have med skills of varying degrees not many need to go to a med center anyway. Just go to Theed or Coronet 95% of the time there is a doc there...buffing and able to perform other services, albeit for a small fee.

Yeah the good ole days in Doaba Man I miss that /cry now no one is even there on the server what in the world happend. If Doaba stayed some what busy I would stop going to coronet period. In doaba there was people who loved to chat and in coronet they wanted to get healed and run. I went to coronet once at launch being a former country boy myself I love small good groups of people and the big city was where all the shady people are. LOL I stayed in doaba till the last gasp was there 5months after launch man it was good to be in doaba. Lots of Chat fights in the cantinas laugh till you almost bust a gut, man thats my favorite city. Your post brought back memories I use to run from the Ragtag's when I came back to the city from hunting man that was fun. They (DEV's) should put something in the game thats city specific like you gain more for being there. Well your post brought back memorys I have nothing to say about the tumblers nothing at all its not there fault belive me. Dr's, AS would be the likley culprit to the problem 90% riesitst armor and stuff like that check my boards on Ahazi now somebody is selling 80's all the way down now. And doctor buffs sold by the crates. I helped contribute to the problem for my own greed but, there was nothing like Doaba Nothing like it /cry Miss the place dearly miss the chats now its all AFK and solo groups belive that crap OMFG.

Greetings,
The death of the med centre as a hub for proper player interaction was brought about by the advent of the 110 med droid. At least the med centres were full when peeps were buffing and being buffed in there. I've been an MD on Farstar since New Years Eve and I cant recall when I last did a stint in a hospital anywhere.
Just how does a small dustbin full of components out-perform a fully functioning hospital anyway?
Nerf the med droids and get people back into the med centres!

Moski, as hard as it is for me to admit it, you're right. I love my 110 med droid, but it has totally made city medical centers useless. The only time I am encouraged to use city facilities is if there is a faction base that gives me an advantage to healing or buffing, or if any of the city special features enhance my usefulness in a player city medical center.
I guess for the sake of realism and restoring some community in cities, I would support reducing the effectiveness of droids, such that they might be nearly as good as a medical center, but definately not *as* good. Perhaps 90% of the effectiveness still makes them desirable and a viable commdity for droid engineers, but it restores the value of a medical center.

The med center has moved, thats all.
The med center is now located at the starport next to the ticket collector and your droid.
You can do all the things you used to do in the med center and service your patients even.
Do not lament the loss of the med center, think of it as a house call. Doc on wheels.
Many players that are grinding doc will sit at the starport and heal those as they come of the bus. As result there healed before they can ever make it to the med center. I don't see a problem with that.

This is simply not true. I don't know when the med droids came out, but around July/August of last year I was a newb medic on shadowfire with a 110 med droid ... I leveled master doc and master cm in the med center probably 85% and it was always full .... I don't know when things changed but even when I leveled doc around december on farstar it wasn't unheard of for doctors sitting in the med center and healing patients .... I leveled several boxes this way .... I don't know why things changed, but they did .... and I'm sorry to say the med droid may have allowed people to leave the med center ... but it would have happened a whole lot earlier if it was the cause

What else had an affect was holo grinding. I role play and heal friends in the hospital because it fits better than pulling out a R unit. I get shouted at on a regular basisis. "Hey, you are already a master. You do not need the XP. Get the hell out so I can level." So, now we go to a semi-abandoned city with a hospital. I use the droid as a first aid station to cure states. Rather than nerf the droid, why not just up the benefit of using a hospital? It will still upset the grinders, though.

I became a Doctor by accident. I wasn't heading towards buffs or anything, I just got a lot of medic xp doing other stuff and fell upon it. I thought why not.
I spent hours in the Med centres healing having fun, I enjoyed it, banter with other docs/medics/customers. Didn't make any money mind you, but enjoyed it.
I've been a Doc for a long time now. I find less and less respectful people. Long Live the Original Doctor.
Thing is if it was best buffs in the med centre can you imagine the spam???

What annoys me is why are all the tumblers in the bloody med centers ? Why ?! Why why why !?!
They're healing damage, not wounds, there simply isn't ANY reason why they have to be in the med centers clogging them up.
