Thread: Are you still a doctor?

I just made master doc about a week and a half ago. This happened to me twice last weekend: I got into a star port on Endor, and a player who was already there asked if I was "still" a doctor. They then proceeded to ask for buffs. Both were very polite, and offered to pay. And as a new doc, I was happy to buff them.

My question is, why did they ask if I was "still" a doctor? I didn't know either of them. How did they know I "used" to be a doctor? I've never used the Doctor tag, and it seemed to happen too fast for them to have examined me. Any one ever encounter this?

I think I've had several people add me to their friends list after buffing them. Last resort if no doctors appear to be buffing...?

Your bio when you're /examined says that you mastered the doctor profession. They read it and ask if you still are.

I have a few instances of both happen to me. I never wear my tag if I remember not to (it always default to on when i log in, grrrr). But yeah, generally people will be bored waiting for a buffer and start examining people.

If you have mastered more than a couple professions people assume you are a grinder. So they want to make sure you didn't just drop the skills before bugging you for buffs. Personally, I only ever leave Master Doctor up when I'm trying to sell buffs. Just too many tells, many from complete idiots, for me to have any fun with it up all the time.
