It's time docs. Stand up and say whats on your mind.
I for one am not happy about the buff bot idea and feel that it is a scam against us as doctors.
AFTEr all we had to go throught 7 years of bull**edit**!

I actually personally don't mind the buff bots. I don't mind tumblers either, so I seem to have an opinion that is very rare on these boards 
. Anyway, those buff bots are doing what docs do...which is helping people. The bot is helping people by being a reliable way to get buffed, and that is really the only way to hunt nowadays. They also still have to make all the packs (or buy them), therefore putting in the same amount of crafting/buying work as any normal doc does. I mean yes, it does take away business from the starport docs, but I know for a fact that it really isn't much. Even while only half at my computer when I was first doing doc I made a nice clean 2 mil in about 5 hours buffing.....that's a lot of money for 2 hours of sitting there hitting a macro button that pauses and buffs for me.

Go back to the Dancer/other professions that arefrom the Entertainerbranchboards. Most Docstolerate AFK buffers, as they keep the riff-raff from tell-helling you.

By buffbots he means alternate characters running an automatic buffing macro.
It's not a droid or anything.

That's a link to the tempest forums where this thread started originally. It all stemmed from people being bent out of shape about a master musician/75% dancer giving buffs with a fee of 1cr on a shop about 1000m from Coronet...he was using this as a way to master merchant.
Basically the Tempest entertainer community thought this was a travesty, much hate was exchanged and then this thread popped up. People basically got on two sides, those that aren't concerned with flirting in cantinas, and those that are. I guess this is just an attempt to drum up support to try and augment the arguments present in the original thread. Glad to see these responses though...gives me faith in people's common sense that their $15/month grants them the ability to do as they please withinthe TOS.

LMAO, one star bandit...everyone has an opinion and most of the original posters ideas are ludicrious along with blindly stated because most people don't know of any topic on other boards concerning AFK buffing. Ask for an opinion, and you'll get an opinion and someones stupid star rating to boot.

/whistle...dude, no need to get angry about it, he was just expressing his opinion. If you disagree that's cool, I do too. Not everyone is gonna agree, how the world spins unfortunately.

a scam? really? I don't quitesee that...
I don't generally respond to what's a BLATANT attempt at board trolling but I'll add my 2 cents that you're absolutely right. there's too much convenience added to this game. We need to go back to the old ways. back to our roots.
Make vendors so they only work if the merchant is ONLINE, none of this vendorbot crap
Increase shuttle wait times
Increase shuttle transit times time (randomly add a message that "you're transit has been delayed by equipment malfunction)
Increase mind buff times to 30 minutes (you never spend just TEN minutes drinking... let's be real)
Get rid of speeder bikes, everybody should have to run
What's this "auto-run crap"? In order to get any where you should have to constantly press the up arrow button, and not just hold it down, but 1 keypress = 1 meter of movement.
Buffs should take 30 minutes to apply and only last as long as PSG.
Armor? get rid of it.

If you don't like the convenience of buff bots, don't use them.
If you don't like the convenience of using vendors when the merchant's not really there, don't use them.
If you don't like the game, stop playing.

Some people just take this game too damned seriously...I mean, how much is a buff bot REALLY gonna hurt you? For those that decide to hike all the way out to the buff bot, they will make the lines smaller, still ensuring you more business. And if you don't buff for creds then if anything buff bots would help you, seeing as tell hell is a regular thing for our prof.
