I am not in the habbit of buffing the public for my fun or money anymore. I actually only did that for about a week or two when I first mastered it, before it just bored me to death. If for some reason I do buff someone other than a friend, it is never in Coronet. It is almost always on Dant or an off planet citysomewhere.

Ever since then, whenever someone asks me if I am buffing (I do not ever wear my MD tag.) I have a knee jerk reaction and alwayspolitely say no right off the bat.

The problem is that I have too big of a heart or something... Because I always feel real bad saying no to cool people who ask politely, when I know I can buff them right then and there, but lie and say no to them.

I am not a lier by nature, and despise people who do.

SoI usually watch them for a few minutes after I give them the bad news... And if they acted cool to me when they asked, and still acted cool when I told them no, and are still walking around wondering what they will do now, I send them a tell saying that I will buff them, but they have to keep it to themselves.

Then I tell them to meet me behind a building or a star port, and I give them the 'Sneaky" buff, as I like to call it. This makes them even more happy than if I had just said yes in the first place, as they now feel special, and itmakes me feel like Ireally helped them out in a pinch.

Man... I hope I am not turning g a y or something here .

I know there was no real point to this post, so I apologize if I wasted your time with this. I was just bored at work tonight and wanted to share something nice with you-all for change.

Thank you for reading this if you did.

Luckily for me, I've managed to not give in after saying "no",of course I just became a Master Doc. Last night, I did accidentally let slip that I could buff people when I was switching back and forth between a chat channel and groupchat. (I was having a /tell exchange and the received /tells wouldn't show up on the chat channel. Guess I should have used spatial since the only two near me were guildmates).

I do loathe lying as much as you do, but I had to weigh that against whether I wanted to hunt Rancors for a couple of hours to grind my pistol skills, or sit there for an hour or so buffing people. I'm a Master Doc, and did have the buff kits, but not nearly enough to manage a long line, nor did I want to beging that sort of role for my toon where I would be subject to constant "can u buff plz" spam. It was pretty hard to lie, though, and I did feel pretty bad about there not being another doc at the starport on Dath to buff those guys. But, most of them could afford to go to Corellia to get another 2.5 hour set of buffs and that's what most of them did.

Okay. It's not so bad this time.

When they ask "are you buffing" and you answer is "No", then that's not lying. That's like asking a good brawler "Are you going to fort tusken" and they say "No". Yes, they're capable of going to Fort Tusken, but no, they're not in the mood for it right now. It's not a lie at all. You have every right to choose what you'll do with your time. If you fel like buffing, even just one person, then go ahead. If you fel like doing something else, then do that instead.
