Thread: It is unwise to heal that person What is with this?

Ok I know that I can not heal or Buff an Overt of either side since I am Neutral. But last night I was at the Squill caves with my Master Doctor/Musician and I was asked to Buff someone. When I tried I kept getting "It would be unwise to heal this person", He was not Overt, he did not have a TEF and neither did I. He was a Jedi but I have Buffed plenty of Jedi's so I do not think that could be the problem. After talking with him I found out that there may be a bounty on him and a Bounty Hunter tracking him, could this cause me to be unable to heal him?

On a side note I with zero Combat skills killed several Squill's with a Pre Nerf Republic Blaster that I got yesterday from another Jedi that I Buffed in the middle of Nowhere on LOK. I did not get hurt at all. Explaine this to me. Why was I able to hold up better with this character than my other character that is over half way through TKA?

Thanks

My understanding is that you can get this measage not just by overts but also be a TEF.

The TEF can be one from a faction such as Janta, Jabba, etc. So if you had a clash of faction you could get the measage. For example, if you had positive Janta faction and the person you tried to buff had just been fighting Janta and had a Janta TEF (it will not show a flag) then you could not buff them.

Next time this happens ask the person what they have been fighting in the last 5 minutes or so and then look at your faction standings and see if this works out.

I have not fully tested this out so I could be all wrong.

I think this is the closest we've come to working out what exactly causes it. Test it out more if youget a chance please

Ok my char. has no faction points whatsoever. Until the other night he had never been in any combat at all and that was after this problem. The Jedi had been fighting Squill, do Squill give any type of faction? I do not know if he was imp. or rebel. I was grouped with a covert Imp at the time who was also fighting Squill. I just read another post about a BH TEF, I had never heard of that before, it sounds like there is no TEF flag when someone has one. The Jedi in question did mention that he may have a BH after him and that he thinks there was a bounty, could this have given him a BH TEF? if so could that have been the problem? If this is the case then I think the DEV's need to change some code that would tell you exactly why you are unable to Buff someone instead of saying it would be unwise. I also think that I should be allowed to Buff anyone at anytime no matter what there faction or situation may be. I am keeping my Doctor Neutral and this should allow him to heal anyone that needs it. Think about this, in the real world a doctor in a combat zone is there to heal anyone that is in need, not only the side he is on but also the enemy if needed. What do you think?

Jedi now get a TEF from using their force powers, correct? Are you 100% sure he hadn't done any such thing recently?

To be completely honest I do not know if he had used his force powers, acctualy I do not even know what the force powers are. I have never looked into anything Jedi and never attempted the holo grind. I do not remember his name or I would ask him about it. I guess it is time for me to start looking more into the Jedi.

It's the new, rediculous Jedi perk. Jedi cannot TEF inside the squill cave. This is so that Jedi can level-up before Publish 10 so that they can become Knight and join the rankings. The devs are trying to fill up the ranks as soon as possible. Bounties cannot be fulfilled on Jedi in the cave. They are completely safe here and can grind to no end. It's dumb, I know. That is why you could not heal him.

Scotty doesn't know. So, don't tell Scotty. Cause Scotty doesn't know.
