I believe that once JTL arrives people will be more sepearated ingame than ever. We used to have a community where alost all the cities were rich with people, and now because of guild cities we are lucky to find a single person on yavin4 sometimes. When this expansion comes out, it will deem starports almost entirely useless, so there goes a doctor's major buffing location as well as hotspot for trade. I am looking forward to flying in space, but not losing touch with my fellow player, what do you guys think?!

I wouldn't worry. JTL is just going to add to it. It is not meant to replace the ground game at all. People will still need money for ships and repairs and to do that they will need to hunt. To hunt they need/want buffs. Maybe this will pull people back to the med center.
Here's hoping.

Maybe they will make it so you have to land and takeoff from a starport. I dunno. But remember, doctor buffs are going to be "adjusted" during the combat balance anyway. Who knows.

You do have to takeoff and land at starports. That is a known factor already.

Don't you guys think there will be space mission terminals so players don't have to go to the ground to make money?

I know how you feel, in space you don't need buffs or heals or cures so not much doctor use up there. The only professions that will count are the pilot ones. But I'm sure not everyone will get the JtL expansion so there will always be a demand for doctors on the ground.

I can see your fears in this, but honestly, this is just another part of the game, I highly doubt the totally fading of all other parts of the game and the JtL engulfing the entire game as if SWG was a flight simulator. It will be a great experience yes, and many people will want to join in on space, but the same goes for the ground. People will still want to show off their weaponry, armors and characters, still wanting to PVP and ACTUALLY seeing your opponents' faces, still wanting the rush of you yourself facing others.
All groundexperiences will still remain, and increase. I believe with JtL, many more a person will join in SWG, and they will need to gain their money somehow, which I hope there will be no space terminals in space itself. I hope people can do missions in space, of course, but I think you should still recieve quests on the ground. Also, they could impliment doctor into space as well, almost as an enhancer to pilots, having a slightly quicker response to attacks, giving the pilot himself a higher rate of fire or something. These could be used like buffs and used on the pilot that wants somewhat of an edge, almost like using an energy enhancer medicine or something.
In the case that we do fade, God forbid, I will still enjoy my title as Medical Proffesor, let alone being called Proffesor in my guild

I really don't think that everyone is all that up on the idea of space combat... sure, it's cool, and I'll prolly try it out a few times, but PvP, and PvE on the ground intrest me far more than going out into space. Now, I'm a doc, so I don't go to Starports to get buffs, but I do SIT in Starports, and hock my filthy needles. Starports will have just the same hustle and bustle as they always did I belive. You can't stay in space forever... (Unless the Dev's REALLY screwed up) There's just going to be 2 sets of people... space combat peeps, and ground combat peeps. It's just as if they've updated X-Wing, or some other such sim game, and incorporated it into SWG. I think that docs may see their usage drop a bit, but it won't be the death of docs.

The latest IGN article (about a month ago) on JTL said that there will be on the fly missions spawned in space. Very nice to read since originally you were going to have to take a mission, complete it, land, get another mission, repeat.

I shouldn't worry too much afterall we'll stil need to depart from starports, even with our own ships (or at least that's what I understand t be the case).
