Thread: Request for new doctor ability

In the never-ending quest to seperate our profession from the combat medics and the accursed Jedi, I would like to suggest that doctors be given a new ability.

I would say that by novice doctor, the doctor's training in anatomy would make this possible. The ability would securely and anonymously cross-check the player toon's gender with the name on file in Sony's billing department. Therefore, if "Kiki Wavingrider" is financed by "Doug Gellerman"...

At master doc, you should be able to flag verified shims with something comparable to a TEF. I even have a suggestion for the icon, but I shall not elaborate here. Ideally, the Detect Shim ability will help ease a lot of confusion and awkward moments in our fair game, and ensure that the cheery blonde you're chatting with does indeed have a pair of working ovaries, and is not a mister sister.

The detectShim ability has a fatal flaw. If a father, husband, boyfriend, pay for the account but is used by other people. My toon plays on Infinity, my husband's on Bria. My husband pays for the account. We even share the same forum account. Your detectShim ability in that case would flag my infinity toon as a shim, though I am a she.
