Maybe you should try ditching the whole buff bot thing and actually play your character for a change.

I play my character(s) all the time. (Didn't get Master Doc, Master Merchant, and half of Combat Medic, or any of the various crafting profession I have on my alt, by running a buffbot.)

I run the buffbot during the (European) night when I am asleep and the rest of you are still awake. I've been led to believe it has been a service to my fellow players. It certainly hasn't paid much and has been more of a hassle than anything else.

Are you targetting by group member?

Not sure of the terminology here, but the macro I copied includes the string

/join ;

and

/ui action targetGroup0 ;

So I assume the answer is yes, the thing works by people grouping with me, followed by

/healenhance x ;

for every category.

I am not a fan of bots of any kind. If you are not on, i'm sure someone else is. Let them get the business.

I run the Mos Vegas buffbot on Shadofire (at least until looping macros disappear soon). Once recently I discovered the macro had derailed and was buffing me over and over again until all the buff packs in my inventory were gone.

The same thing started to happen last night, but fortunately I caught it early and turned off the macro before everything was gone. Scrolling back through chat history I found that the last thing before the macro went wrong was the vendor greeting someone called s'n'a'f'u' stimpy. What I am wondering is if that person could have intentionally done something to make the macro behave that way? (Can it be done by just coming into the hospital and then leaving before the buff starts?) The name sort of indicates possible malicious intent.

Or could something like this happen from an Overt wandering in by mistake?

Fortunately so few people use the Mos Vegas buffbot that I never have much in inventory anyway. But something like this could be massively expensive for better stocked docs.

I also ran a buffbot for a brief period on Flurry and have experienced a similar issue to the one you mention. I didn't see it repeatedly, but I had incidents where the person would invite me, get tired of waiting and walk off before the invitation was accepted. Since the invitation was still pending when the macro got back to the top, I would accept the group and target the player who was no longer in range and viola - I buffed myself!

You can cure this by adding a line to target a known item (like my droid (Sue)) before targetting the group member and always remembering to explicitly issuing /leavegroup. Without the leavegroup command, you would buff yourself with each and every cycle.

Assuming that you DO have the leavegroup command in your macro, I would think the guy would have to repeatedly invite you (perhaps in his own macro).

If that is the case, all you can do is use the /addignore power that the devs gave you and hope the person does not convince someone else that you need to be griefed for providing a service to the community while you sleep (my opinion).

Best of Luck

while on Flurry, don't visit Ojes Yobe's Liquidation Vendors just 800M from Theed starport on Naboo (neg5219 3419) - cause they ain't there anymore! They are now exclusively located in Mos Athens Mall

I don't know, but doesn't /ui action targetGroup0 target the group leader, in which case, someone could /makeleader on you, and you'd buff yourself...maybe taht's it. I'm not all too familiar with these buffbots really.

I don't think non-leaders can make someone else the leader.

As for the buffing thing just buff yourself with a med droid or bivoli (provided you don't use bivoli for the buff bot) and then you'll be golden since you won't be able to overwrite any buffs you have since your current ones will be higher. Of course you might need to check this every 3 hours or so but it beats wasting crates of buffs.

The new default for healing is you.
If you have something targeted that cannot be healed or buffed it defaults to you.

This was a fix for people who would hit healself then kill their target and would get the you can't heal that message.

That fix is your problem

This explains why the macro is suddenly behaving differently. Is there a fix for the fix? Like throwing in a line to redirect the target to something other than me on a regular basis or something like that?

Someone suggested that if I did a bivoli buff on myself first, then I wouldn't be able to buff myself any more. The problem there is that the bivoli buff would wear off in 2 and a half hours, maybe a bit more, and then I have a feeling I will just keeping buffing myself until the packs are gone. (Wish I could tell the macro to wait three hours, eat bivoli, then recycle.)

I had almost hoped that this would all end today with Publish 10. It's nice that the devs are actually taking into consideration the need for off-hours healers, but this particular fix seems to work against that aim.
