Thread: How do you make a hotkey for area disease and poison cures?

I'm a Master Doctor and have been for months. I do all my healing from my toolbar using the hotkey icons provided for use in the toolbar. But when the new area disease and poison cures came out I couldn't find any new hotkey icons or commandsfor them in my commands list. Do they have commands? (I assume that they must) If they do what are they and how do I find them?

I've been told by some other Master Docs to just use the packs. I don't like doing that because that means opening the inventory which covers up my screen in the middle of a battle. I also don't like placing the packs in my toolbar, because if they run out I have to drag another one up there from inventory. I want just a simple hotkey like we have for all the other healing we do and I don't know how to set it up. Can anyone tell me how?

I think it's been noted that they both use /cureDisease or /curePoison so you probably will have to hotkey your area packs AND your regular packs.

There was a post here earlier that said if you use the /cureDisease or /curePoison commands when you have an Area Cure Pack in your inventory it will use a charge on those regardless of whether or not anyone actually got cured.

Even thought it's inconvenient I would put the packs in the toolbar... I can't imagine you use them so often that it will be inconvenient to toss a new one up there whenever one runs out.

Thanks for the answer. It really stinks, but thanks anyway.

Sowhat this essentially means is the hotkey icons are useless because they won't distinguish between area and regular packs andnow I'll have to have four different packsstuck up there in my toolbar? This was one of the very reasons I hated using traps as a scout.

When you're fighting a giant dune kimogila or a frenzied rancor, or Lokian mynocks, you can go through disease cures very fast...so it does matter when you have to stop and drag one from inventory to toolbar while your groupmates are needing damage heals as well as disease cures and you have to search your inventory for the right pack to reset your toolbar. That's why I use hotkey commandsanyway...so I don't have to do that kind of thing. *sigh* Oh well...I guess I'll have to do it this way and get used to it.

I placed the area packs in my back pack. Then set them on a unused toolbar pain and slot (pain 4 slot 00, 01). On my main tool bar pain that I use in combat I placed a macro that changes pains, selects the tool slots for area packs, then changes the pain back to my combat one. This saves you one tool bar slot. You can place stat cures there as well to get a cure all macro.

The only down side is you may not notice when you have used up a pack.

I have been thinking of reversing this and placing my point use cures in my back pack and then placing redundent packs in the tool bar. For example, place 3 poison cure packs in slots 00, 01, 02 and have the macro attempt to use all three. Since point use cures will not get used if they are not needed I would not be wasting them.

i think this is similar to what CM's have with ranged and area heals. its the same command - it will use whatever is in your main inv.

one solution, though not a cheap one, is to only carry area poisen cure's around with you now.

this is what i have begun doing, to both save inv space and simplify everything. yes i know that area's are not as strong as singles, but i still think its one answer.
