I'm a new Novice Doctor ( 0-2-1-0) and have been for 2 day's now. I have spent a lot of credits getting there and expect to spend a hell of a lot more getting to Master and I am by no means a rich player.
Why don't players tip you when you have healed them. The ratio must be about 1 in 7 people that have tipped me. A lot of them don't even give you a thank you. Some players come into the med center and shout 'Heal me', so I do and don't even get a thank you from them. Then on the other hand you get those players that tip 5k when healed and one guy even tipped me 25k.
I would just like to see more appreciation in the service I give, I'm not asking for a lot.
I spend a lot of time in the Theed Cantina (Corbantis). There are many tumblers there and I see a lot of novice Medic/Dotors using them. I refuse to use them and have my own reasons why. I get annoyed that they sit there for hours healing these tumblers and when a player comes in they rush to heal them to and so I miss out on valuable xp. I wish they would stick to the tumblers and leave the genuine hurt players to the Medics and Doc's that are doing the job as intended.
Well that's my rant over with. Apart from the above, I do really enjoy being a Doctor and I'm looking forward to healing players out on the Battlefield when I'm more experienced.

All the medics healing the tumblers in the med center really gives the wound healers a bad name, I tip all the people that heal my wounds but when you end up standing there for 10 mins I sometime think of not bothering

I guess I've been lucky in that I have received 3 tips over 50K while healing in the hospital, but I really made better tips (a lot more of them) while standing at the spawn area in the starport in Coronet, healing people as they spawned. Averaged 20K to 60K a night and did all my XP there in one week! Make sure you have a Med droid, batteriesand LOTS of wound packs! It can get fast and furious, so have some brandy too!

I have done that. I stood at the spawn area in Theed, Naboo for about an hour and didn't get one tip all the time I was there. I agree it's a good place for xp though and it does get very busy.

We are still recovering from the hologrinding.
Wounded players expect you to be happy to heal them solely for the XP.
Way back in the begining...when Medics and Docs were that profession because they wanted to be, I was always tipped something...granted it may have been small but there always was a thank you too.
Then the dark times came upon us.
People started to grind everything for that elusive goal of |_|b3r 1337 j3d1...
New professions were invented....the Tumbler and the APP Vender.
The Tumbler actually expected you to PAY them to heal them....once people began seeing this 1337 profession in the Cnet hospitals they started taking healers for granted.

And here we are today....the new Jedi system....which involves even MORE XP grinding.
The Tumbler and APP vendor are still secure in there new professions till the CB kills off the Tumbler.
We're doomed! -

I started playing and was a doc long before the Hologrinding phase, as it appears you were Knocky. With the volume of tipping / I feel abused threads that have been steady since release, I dont see how you can say the professions problem is one of hologrinding.
No, the problem is the people.
I would happily heal any and all wounds so long as people were courteous and gave me minor tips - talking 500c-1000c, bieng a master doctor and I cant even get that, when any newbie can afford it.
I just returned to the game, and if people were like that, Id be healing people for xp, but lo I know they are not. So Ill use a tumbler, and people in general can rot.
The upside to it is I can usually tell who the problem people are, and who they are not, so if asked nicely, Im fairly likely to heal wounds, but not if someone barks HEAL ME! at me, oh no sir, not going to happen.

There's always one solution. Offer them two options:
A. pay up front and get the woundpacks, which probably heal in one shot.
B. don't pay, and get /tended, including all the time to sit and time to go heal mind wounds at the cantina.
There are always AFK dancers trying to grind through in the cantina, so option B only costs you time.
Not a great solution, but often enough to convince people to pay a little something.

"Why don't players tip you when you have healed them."
Because with all the holo grinders there was always someone willing to heal you for free to get the exp! Perhaps things will change now.

I had 2 separate players in my city (where I provide free healing and buffing as a public service) tell me, "Wow... That must be a crapload of xp that you just got. I should start charging you for this seeing how you docs are all so rich!". I had stifle a scream and instead educate them patiently about master docs not needing their xp (pre-Patch 10) and how this is a service to them that costs us time, effort and resources that they should learn to appreciate.
You'll just have to get used to the fact that only a small minority of players will tip you if they can get away without doing so. If it really bothers you, ask for a tip upfront before commencing healing. You'd be surprised at how many will agree to pay because they realize that they need the service from you more than you need it from them.
