Thread: Question: do you charge in advance for buffs?
I feel that with the wide variety of results I'm getting off a buff pack I can't guarantee the high hits like everyone has become addicted to. So, generally I tell the person to let me buff then they can tip. This has netted me tips anywhere from 5K up to 25K.
If someone asks me what I charge for buffs but did not ask to be buffed, I generally say 6K full set is the usual charge. Usually they'll end up tipping me the 6K right then, and I'll pull out the droid and buff. Any that hit below 1K nets the client a refund of 1K.
Though now that some of the meats are going for as high as 20 - 55 CPU on my server, I'm tempted to raise buff prices if I have to start buying from these sellers.
When I sold them absolutely. If I knew the player and I trusted them, then no, but at that point they always paid in advance becuase they knew that was how I opperated. Also the "pay in advance" thing helped me sort out who got buffed first when I was swamped at an adventure planet in a starting area.
I had a few complain, I was never rude, I would just say "thanks for your time and walk away.. only to see my "fee/tip" appear in my spatial bar". I NEVER explained why that was my policy I think it goes without saying.
Anyhow there you go - if you don't charge up front and you get burneddon'tget all upset and stuff, **edit** happens. Save yourself risk and being a vistem bycharging up front and protect yourself in advance from a-holes, and get more people used to the idea of "fee for service medicine (pre pay)" in the game.
