Thread: Enhancement Timing--Game time or real time
Hello Doctors,
Excuse me if this is often asked, but I didn't see it in the fact (my apologies if its in there and I missed it). When a doctor enhances a stat for say 3 hours, is that 3 hours game time or real time?
For example, say I get buffed catch a shuttle to Dantooine, hunt for awhile, the wife calls me for somethign and I log out. If I log back in four hours later will the buff be gone or will I still have my buff minus the time between buffing and logging out?
Thanks,
Lucian.
Logging out will remove the buff from your character, whether the time has run out or not.
But for a more accurate answer to your initial question, it is based on server time, not client (your) time
It is based on server time (or real time). So, if you apply buffs at 2 PM that will last for 2 hours, you'll be buffed until 4 PM, whather you're online that whole time or not. If you log out at 2:30 PM and then back on at 5PM, you won't be buffed - you'll have lost 1.5 hours worth of buff time. ![]()
However, if you log out, you sometimes do and sometimes don't lose your buffs. In most cases, I've found that if I need to do a quick relog, my buffs do not disappear. Usually, if I log out for some extended period of time, my buffs are removed, but I recently logged for 15-20 minutes and, upon logging in again, I was still buffed. Go figure. ![]()
Yup, it's based on real time. But logging out is where it gets confusing...
If you go "LD", you do not lose any buffs. As long as you get back in before the server drops you, they'll still be there.
If you "/logout", or if your "LD" elapses and the server drops you, the buffs get dropped as well. BUT, many times the timer keeps ticking - so you are not buffed, but any attempt to buff you will register "This person already has an enhancement to that attribute" until the timer goes away.
