Thread: I am *not* a buff wh0re (lmao)
Conversation inside the Theed Cantina
Rebel: /yell Can someone buff my constitution?
Me: /tell Rebel I can if you come outside to do it. 1k
Rebel: Wow...1k for justa constitution buff?
Rebel: /walks outside
Me: 2k for you, mouthy
Rebel: What is your problem? I was gonna pay
Me: You take support classes for granted. You're free to find another doctor (at 10:30 am)
Rebel: Wow, you're really mean.
Me: You don't understand how expensive it is to make buffs
Rebel: **edit** off
Me: /report Rebel
Rebel: OMG...I'm sorry, my brother was on the computer while I took a shower. /begs forgiveness
I just love how quickly they change tune when you refuse to be sworn at for charging a decent price for buffs, which are increasingly outrageously expensive to make.
I sugest this method to everyone. Have fun kids!
I would be more understanding if they said something more like "**edit** 1k?!?"
It seems like you may have antagonized him a bit.
Just my 2cr.
I know there are a wide variety of opinions about how much to charge for buffs etc. and I would say for the most part people dont take my enhancement services for granted. There are a few that think b/c someone at Coronet was sitting outside of the starport buffing mostly new players for 5-6k that that is the price it should be throughout the entire galaxy. Well I cant disagree more. Sure an inner planet such as corelia in general will be less for buffs (largely due to supply vs demand). But on the outer rim planets 6k is the bare minimum for a master doc using quality buffs.
I use a sliding scale fee and I feel that is the fairest way to do it. My buffs range from 6k-9k and I tell them that upfront. If they think that is too much I have a line of regular customers waiting for me, move along. And in the mean time, you should try and gain an appreciation for the services that we provide you and the effort and time it takes to provide the best product we can..
LOL...
The rebel's "price concerns" were a little innocuous, but I've still done that to people who don't agree with my pricing. It's not like I am truly salivcating at the thought of getting to buff people. I do it because I can and I make some nice coin on the side. I've instituted a "Jerk Tax" on many occasions. Sometimes they don't pay, but it is "oh-so-sweet" when they do. ![]()
I have to agree, I think you, DangerGlitz were the jerk here.. .Why did you report him for your mis-behavior??? If you would have done the same thing to me, I'd tell you to **edit** Off also!

I agree with danger, however, I have a policy about only selling buffs
since the buffpacks i buy differ in charges, i will only individually buff those stats which have more charges down to where everypack has the same amount, and 1k is a fair price to charge for those
ie: say you had 25 action, stamina, strength and 22 constitution, health, quickness, I would only individually buff action, stamina, and strength up to 3 times...most of the time, people only want a full set, so i keep as many full sets as possible
And I probably wouldn't have said how expensive it was to make the packs, I would have just said take it or leave it....
Almost as funny as the time I had high BF at tusken and told the guy it may effect the buffs...he asked if he could pay afterwards if they were good, LOL!
Maybe I should have added that this conversation is greatly simplified for length, and that I'd just gotten a mind buff so I could be off somewhere else doing something for my own enjoyment. /shrug I just refuse to be sworn at for charging "the standard" 1k per stat, especially with no petro 4 spawning in months, and decent avian selling for 30cpu. Not to mention I'd just charged the people infront of her 7k for a set, and was "trying to be nice" about price since she seemed fairly new.
P.S. I sold 2 buffs on my way logging out on Dant, one for 13k, one for 15k.
I don't say no, I say "More than it's worth" ![]()
If you ask a doc what thier price is, either say, cool, or say. no thanks. But to sound like the village idiot and repeat the price with disbelief, well that will leave you in the cold with me driving away. I dont have time for that **edit**.
I dont have a problem with what DangerGLitz did at all. There are many in the game that seem to feel that we are obligated to buff them. I understand that there are Docs out there that use buffing as their primary means of making credits and who wish to build up a clientale. But on the other hand there are many docs who basically just buff on the side when time allows.
I wear my Doc tag at all times. I dont have a problem with people asking for buffs, but if they ask in a rude manner or start mouthing off about the price then they can go find buffs elsewhere as far as Im concerned. I dont particulary need the $$ nor do I need to burn up resources that I can use on myself , Pa members, or friends.
As far as pricing goes, its like everything else in life. Its worth as much as someone wants to pay.I dont see any set guidelines saying buffs have to cost 1k per stat. If Im not in the mood to buff, or Im pressed for time, I may quote 8, 10, or even 15k depending on location, faction affiliate, or added jerk factor. And for those of you that think this is outrageous, think again. There are many players out there that dont bat an eyelash at paying 10-15k for buffs. Its all about the time=money concept.
