I got bored last night and decided to go into a hospital and heal people. So I ran my macro saying Does anyone need medical help. I never said a word about payment to see if people would actually pay for healing..

Well only 2 out of 10 people actually paid for my services. I made about 3K in all of an hour. This is why I left the hospitals long ago and never returned. People complain all the time about I can never find a Dr to heal me, well folks this is why. You dont pay, people dont stay. Yes I know there are doctors out there that do it for fun but hey, I am here to make a living. SO the next time someone comes into this forum and says HEY how come there are never Dr's in the hospitals, Send them to this posting.....

Should let docs set access fees to the med centers !!!!!!!!!11 When theres more than 1 master doc then they each set theyre own fees and incoming patients get the choice of what doc to go for.

Well if no-one was grinding medic ...

I find it amusing to walk by a med centre see if anyone has massive black rot, drop Wound-E on them to heal it all, and leave. Usually gets a "wow".

I will heal all faction players when there is a bit of a war on, and I dont expect payment but funnily enough that's when your more likely to get thanks and a tip.

seems to me (being a novice doctor not too much exp in this field) that most people in med centers are in need of exp so the tip is in letting them heal you. Admittedly i tip healers though only about 200 credits a peice as i can have about 5-6 healers jump on me (tka wannabe too )which works out to about 1200 credits to be healed of wounds i can heal myself.

A surcharge on the door would be nice, say dependant on the amount of doctors/medics (i dont know, maybe with titles showing etc you figure it out ) inside, something little like 100 credits etc per doc/medic (even dancers entertainers in the cantina) then people have no choice. would drop the economy (this games far to easy to make money in) and people need the heals etc so everyones happy. anyway feel for you, i've had some nice tips like 1.5k etc and none at all but hasn't bothered me through my medic stage as i only wanted experiance, though as a master doc i imagine its more for a way of living ....

I stood outside the Coronet starport healing random people last night for a couple hours and probably made 20k in tips. Most people didn't tip but there was some who'd tip1k-2k and one guy tipped me 5k.

see last poster hit the nail on the head. 2k as an MD isnt even worth my time. This is why people complain about not finding Dr's and Dr's dont want to do it. You can make more killing Gnorts in 1/10th of the time. The Medical Profession has failed. I learned long ago, be a Dr to heal myself and nothing else. I dont buff nor do I heal, no money to be made and it takes to long to get good resources..

I usually let my customers decide what my buffs are worth to them and pay me what they want. Their name goes on a list with whatever comment I have. My average tip for a buff is 10k.

Sometimes I am asked to do wounds. Same deal with not asking for a set fee to be paid. The most I've been tipped for wound healing? 600 cr.

Suffice to say, I don't carry wound packs around with me. I always have buff packs.

A few days ago I started something interesting that seems to be working well for me.

After a group hunt, or even if I was out soloing, when I make it back to the city I take off my Master Doc tag and head to the med center.

For the last three days I have found an unusually large crowd there, I chat with everyone while waiting my turn to be healed. When the novice medic or whoever heals me up, I tip them 5k or whatever I feel like giving atm.

Then I ask them in spacial chat "Did you get my tip"?

When they say yes, I /thank; /bye and leave

Hopefully, if we as Docs set the example others will follow. I don't see many hologrinders hanging out in med centers, but even if they are, when they recieve a tip hopefully they will carry it with them once they drop medic/doc/CM. Then they will be the people doing the tipping

Just my .02

Thanks

I never expect to get paid for healing. In fact I almost always say its free (people sometimes tip anyway).

Woundpacks (Docs dont need anything higher than b) are so cheap and easy to make I don't care if they pay me.

I, however, don't spend alot of time healing.

/tip 6000
best way to make friends with a medic/doctor.
I usually ask what the largest tip they have ever got, then add 1k. Problem solved.
