With novice doctor u take the "Register Location with PlanetaryMap skill"and u can "register yourself" with terminals situated in hospitals...but what does it mean?

When i'm registered i'll be visible on the map or something like that? And why i should be registered? Tell me, i'm a n00b doctor.

It lists the med facility as being staffed. So anyone can look at the map, go to the side menu and theres an icon by the med facility for staffed or unstaffed.

I saw this listed in the skill level Novice Musician but am not sure what it means. Does it mean that the harp shows up on the map indicated that someone is playing, or does it mean that you can assume control of an existing cantina? If the former, how come I go to these places and no one is there?

If not the latter, there should be some way to allow non-masters to assume control of already existing cantinas. I can see why a non-Master coud not start a new one, but if one existed somewhere and was just sitting there it seems a shame for it to go unattended. It would be good for someone to be "hired" by a PA as a manager.

Open the Planetary Map. Look under Cantina. In NPC cities only, if you see a little sun next to the name of the cantina, it's got a Novice or higher Musician or Dancer in there. Theoretically. If you log out while registered, it doesn't un-register. PC cantinas and theaters are busted; they're set to 'staffed' every time the server resets, so you can't actually tell if anyone's there or not unless someone goes in, registers, then leaves.

Due to that, it's basically useless.

Oh, and you can't register in Taverns or Hotels. You can register in a Guild Hall Theater, NPC Cantina, PC Theater or PC Cantina.

>>>Hotels<<<

There are Hotels? I have been looking for hotels. Is there a way to find them? I have long felt it was the only detail missing from big cities. I guess I was not looking in the right place.

Yeah...they are on the map, usually have a few flavors of mission terminals out front, and gambling stuff inside. They also claim to be safe logout points.

Try the /find command or hit ctrl+h and look through the building list.

You also cannot register in the Cantina on Dathomir. I would have to assume it's because it's Dathomir in that instance, since it's listed under Cantina on the map and everything.

I really wish this would get fixed. I think it would go a long way towards smoothing out the "I can never find an entertainer!" and "I go to advanced planets and no one tips me!" conflict, since combatants would be able to tell at a glance in the field if there was an entertainer able to heal them. And I'm hoping once the FSCS chasers have to quest, not grief their way though professions they have no interest in, that appreciation for entertainers will go up a little.

Have to admit, it's a BIG error on thegame's part not to allow registration in Hotels and Taverns.

I play on Dathomir a lot - and I can't register in the Tavern! That makes no sencse at all - it's one of a dozen or so proper civilised buildings on the planet and yet I can't register there as one of the few Musicians playing on the whole planet. Yet I can register in some backwater player town where people hardly ever visit....

And Hotels is silly - the documentation clearly suggests they have equal ranking to cantinas yet they are ranked as less...

I've been a doc for as long as i can remember, and i have never figured out what this function does. The description is very vague too. Can anyone explain it to me?

I remember being in a player city hospital and using a terminal to register with the location, but i've no idea what it does lol.

out of curiosity I did this.....

Was in cornet with my tag on (had not gotten a tell in 5 min so i thought I was safe)...

Walked over to the terminal, registered...

Got a message "you have registered with this bla bla bla".

Nothing seemed to happen until I looked at the planitary map - placed a snazzy icon on the medical center indicating there was a doc there....

"Neat" i said to myself and began to walk out of the med center...

Before I even reached the door 12 people walked in asking for buffs saying they saw the "icon" on the map.

What registering with the planetary map does is shows on the map that a master doc is in a med center

On the planetary map when you look at the med centers available some of them have little icons next too them Now i can't remember what the icons mean but the ones without icons means that there is no "registered" doc in that med center. I doesn't mean that there isn't any medic/doc in thier just no"registered" Master Doc.

But since they never really explained this in any manual, not many people know about it
